windows xp/p4
I have just upgraded my system to a p4 2.6 and added windows xp. When I try to start AC I get the message non suported cpu, you my try to run AC but I may experience crashes. I am then promptly sent back to desktop.
Has anyone else experienced this and how did you deal with the problem.
This is the only game I have experienced this with.

Solving problem:
1. Locate Alpha Centauri.ini
2. Find line "ForceOldVoxelAlgoritm = 0"
3. Set it it 1
There you go

I guess it would've been too much to ask for you to have gone to EA's technical support site to find that answer.
Either way, enjoy the game! I had this issue with a p4 Toshiba laptop I got for myself last year.

I did a search in the forum, however the setting was on last 10 days, oops. As far as Ea's tech support I have the lowest of low opinons about there Tech support and generally will avoid any game they have anything to do with.... They seam to have one standard reply for every issue ever... Check your drivers. Apparentlt they have never published any game that has ever had problems... just ask them they'll tell you....

Agreed. I can remember the substandard treatment all the way back to System Shock 2.
