It wasn't a violation. It was part of the treaty- we have anti-ballistic defense around Moscow, you keep your hardware in Alaska.

It protects Moscow from simulatious strike of ten ICBMs. I doubt you have something so workable.

You never know until you try. you can make some "pribumbas" out of rubber in order to fit in no time. It just breaks my heart remembering all these wives and mothers and children weeping their eyes out. There's something special about grieving Russian women.

As for "pribumbases", you know, rubber it's not a proper material. Kursk laid below 100+ meters of water. The pressure would simply destroy it, esp. consider the temperature of water. To bring NATO's life saving equipment and Russian life saving equipment to the same standard requires a lot of time. It can't be done within few days. The operation was extremly dangerous even with sandartized euipment (when both enterance to resque chamber of Kursk and enterance to resque bridge (damn, I don't know English word for this thing) of resque sub have the same diameter). Even if NATO's resque equipment was somehow adopted for Russian standard, I highly doubt any NATO's sailor would risk his neck and enter this untested, just modified equipment.

Obviously you were never in the Navy. A sailor will risk himself for another sailor (even a Russian) in an emergency such as this. For us this transcends political concerns.

Nah Rooskies have good air defense.. it's a fact. That's about only thing I'm willing to admit. Good air defense and good fighters, though I say the pilots are not the best because of the lack of flying hours. Good planes, good air defense. But that takes you somewhere already.

Anyhow our air defence was greatly improved because of this case. Thanks to this fellow... ... don't remember his name.
