Ion engines should take priority though, since you can still fit 7 HV ENV Fusion Beams and a few PD lasers on a ship without that extra level of miniaturization, and Ion drive is quicker to research anyway.

Up till now I gave you credit for knowing the game. Is there some reason you think I don't. This is a speed race. Omni is need to know where to go and not waste a single movement.
Warlord is needed for the crew bonus and maybe CP. You will not have any space acads in this game.
TransD for extra movement.
The crew could make the difference bewteen needing to retreat or not. Any lost time is fatal. It is a race against time. Not against the AI.
You will not win the race in the game if you research anything, so we do not care about tech. We are not going to have any tech, except by accident.
These are all required to make a speed run. I know you think you know the game and I am not saying you don't, but others have a fair idea of how the game works as well.
The concept is to win the game in as little time as possible. Under 70 turns is the target.

Ah, I see. So it's not really the easiest race to work with, just the fastest if it does work.
Since you'll presumably be winning before anyone has any beam tech more impressive than Laser Cannons and Electronic Computers, what the hell good does crew experience matter? It doesn't affect missile evasion, only beam accuracy and evasion.
Save game, alt-ISEEALL, load game. Who needs omniscience?

Actually I do not even remember what the cheat codes are and would never use them. Cheats and reloads are not part of any game I am going to post or talk about.
So I will need the Omni to know what the best routes are to get to the races quickly. I may be able to take advantage of that trait to pick up some free tech or splinter colonies or cash. It depends on how things lay. But the main value is to keep the steam roll going. Knowing where and when an outpost will be needed or if it will be needed. Any wormholes and such.
It was just an artifical game setting someone posed. I do not really enjoy it all that much, but participated in a few runs.
Just the same as the idea of playing with bad traits. Just another way to have a game that is different than ones normal game.
