The best German word ever is 'kaput'. It is amazingly concise and comprehensive.
To the best of my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong), it doesn't have an exact counterpart in English. Rather, it should be translated using different words according to the situation. In Russian, there exists only an impolite (slang) translation, which is rather precise nevertheless ('pizdets').

As for the words listed in the poll, they all sound Greek to me.

Can't think of an exact English counterpart off the top of my head so we just stole the word directly from German.
Whenever I've heard it used, it's meant to say something is done/broken. Though there may be shades of Yiddish in there considering I've often heard it used in films about New York Jews.

I just looked through the dictionary, and it looks like 'kaput' is an adjective in English. In Russian it is a noun, and means something like 'utter failure/ruin', 'inglorious end', or 'inevitable end/death'.

You didn't list my favorite German word, gemeinshaft.
Usage:
Dr. Strangelove: "Mein President, we must not allow a gemeinshaft gap!"

Write-in: Schokoladenkucken (mit Sahne) - I'm not sure how to spell it, or if it is usually two words, but I'm sure I've seen it written as one word.

Oh, so in the original German meaning it is an adjective. Well, the Russian adoption somehow made it into a noun.

What? Nobody bowed to the superiority of "Erwartungserwartungen" yet?
To discover the power of this name, you have to play Civ MP and name one of your border Cities "Erwartungserwartungen", and witness how your enemies stop everything they're doing to send thir whole army to rename that city
