What? Nobody is talking about what an idiot the Crocodile Hunter is?
Alright well he can do whatever he wants with his own life but he dangled a damn chicken in one hand and his own child in the other.
What a moron.

I agree, I saw the video and was stunned. I know he's an expert and all, but what was the point of endangering a baby like that? Of course, Daddy's who toss their youngens up in the air and catching them are almost as bad.
Oops, I'm almost as bad...

Silly idea from a public-relations point of view.

Makes Wacko Jacko dangling his kid over a balcony look pretty tame, doesn't it?

Let's cross Michael Jackson an Steve Irwin. We'll get a guy who dangles his baby in front of the crocodile.

From a Darwinian point of view, perhaps it might be a good idea.
It did remind me strongly of MJ when I read this in the paper today.

He knows what he's doing. He could easily take you in there and make sure you didn't get bit.
Despite appearances to the contrary and the fact he's Australian, the guy is hyper smart and knows his stuff.

Like I'd trust the opinion of a Kiwi philosofizer
You just believe he's so smart because he had the novel idea of marrying a woman instead of a sheep.

OK, so you are faced with a crocodile. Who do you want advice from - Steve Irwin or all the childcare "experts"?
I know it isn't quite like that but I happen to think we go too far in avoiding risk these days.

Steve's had a few crocs take a nip at him before. Some stupid set of circumstances could occur (he could slip) and the croc could get the kid.

Depends how many pints you've had and how good looking the woman you are trying to impress is.

A shameless self-promoter. He did it at his "Animal Park" in Queensland as a promotional thing. He also, to entertain the crowds, puts his 4 year old girl into a pond wearing her floaties and tells her to "act like crocodile bait" to show the people how not to behave when crocs are around. She flaps her arms around and splashes about.

Crocs generally don't lunge forward. If it did, it'd gnaw on his leg first. It's not a wise move, but he probably knows more about crocs than you know about beer.
