what's your favorite southern food
since I am vegeterrian I am probably missing out on a lot of 'great' meat items
but anyways
what I can think of now
I like grits and fried okra
but my favorite has to be cornbread
with either molasses, honey + butter, lentils, or egg gravy on top
what are other people's favorites?

My favorite meat dish would have to be liver and onions.
As for veggies, I'll have to go with sweet potatoes.
Grits are great too, of course.

Look, it was hard to find in Canada and impossible to find in the UK. It's getting on 6 years since I last had a nice piece of cornbread so let me live my lies, please?

Depends, greens maybe, if they are prepared meatless. I'm not a big fan of meat in my greens. Just enough bacon for flavor, and now I'm adding olive oil. Course, I'm doing Atkins now, so I have to add oil and fat to them. In the past I just had them sans meat and oil with a little bit of pepper sauce on them.
