What games do you want to see made?
I was thinking about this tonight. I'd really like to see some good MMOGs, period. But more specifically, a game like WW2online with futuristic weapons - mechs and stuff - would be awsome. It'd have to be better thought out then WW2online, of course, and have more signifigant objectives on the strategic level, and perhaps customizable vehicles and weapon loads, ect... I don't actually know much about the warhammer universe, but that might be a good candidate to base it on.
A MMORPG set in the forgotten realms would be great, too. Provided it was done well. I won't go into the intricacies of what I think a good MMORPG requires, but suffice to say, there aren't any that qualify yet.
A worthy succesor to Master of Orion 1 & 2 would be truelly great, aswell. I've been waiting on that for years...
EDIT: I almost forgot. A Total War game in a fantasy setting would be great, too.

A sequal to Thief 1/2 would be good, although perhaps not by the same people that made Deus Ex 2.

online wrestling management game. computer plays through it, results shown in playback. upgrade your wrestler with better equipment, hire a trainer, a personal fitness regimine, smack talk instruction, etc. new moves/wrestlers/graphics/sounds added monthly, or, buy the expansion disk.
"career move" options: change federations, turn heel/face, use steroids, join/disband a team, start a coalition, etc.
'fantasy league' options: pick 4-5 real life wrestlers, and collect an aggregate score based on their real life results.

Amen!
I think Thief3 is on the way, so we'll soon see.
SMAC2
Civ4
are obligatory choices.
I'll add Monkey Island 5.

Isn't Monkey Island a Disney theme park?
/me wonders how they would make a game out of a theme park.
MoO4 that doesn't suck would be nice, MoO 3 that doesn't suck would be nice too.
A Colonization/Pirates hybrid could be pretty fun.

A good 4x space game, please do not make me do it myself, I surely do not have the time.
Jamski,
I remember seeing a turn based Warhammer 40k game not too long ago. I think that I have this one too???

Im with you Ghengis on the Colonization idea, perhaps a mix of Col with elements of Port Royale.
A Civ game with a total war style battle system would be interesting.

You know what I'd like? I'd like Fallout 3... None of that BoS stuff, just a good ol' RPG... Doesn't look like that will be happening any time soon, though...

What games I'd like to see made? Too many games to list, though here's a few:
Sequels to existing games:
Theme Hostpital 2
Syndicate 3
A sequel to The Settlers II... wouldn't call The Settlers III+IV a sequel to S2
My own ideas:
Some different version of Civilization... basicly it's only the basic stuff from Civ games I'll keep... remaking all the war/tech/terrain-improvements parts
A mixture of: Simsville, SMAC (Only story basicly), Settlers II and a ton of my own ideas

i wont get into specifics of current games, as i still play older games
I will be more general
I'd like to see games that bring new people into the hobby.
I'd like to see games that aspire to be more than a game - that either teach something - whether its history, economics, science or whatever - or that are works of art - that take games far enough into interactive ficition to be treated and evaluated as literature, and not just as interactive entertainment.

Id like to see war historical type game that brings that genre fully back into the mainstream of gaming, as in the good old days of the 1970's.

Actually I'd like to see some original stuff too.
I'm getting tired of seeing 2, 3, 4...etc after the names of games.

Spaced, that game looks interesting. Its not using the W40K rulkes though, but the Panzer General 2 rules, which is a bit wacky.
I wonder where I can "get" it?

Its called Planetside. I recommend you try it out. I no longer play it because I lost interest, plus I just don't have the money to spend on the subscription.
There's free trial offers and such ( www.planetside.com). If you are REALLY interested, and can't find any free trial offers in effect, I can send you one that I never used.
And Thief3 is in production.

I haven't played that, but I was under the impression that it's basically just a huge tribes game with a bit of character progression. It lacks the epic-ness, and realness, of WW2 online.
And I'm fairly certain that there aren't any mechs.
but didn't know about the free trials. I'll give it a try now.

You are right- there's no mechs (though that'd be kewl [btw, they are making a mech mod for the upcoming Tribes3]). And I don't know why people equate it with Tribes at all. You don't have jet packs, and the gameplay is more akin to Battlefield1942 than anything.
Yes, very little character progression. But hey, if you can find a free trial offer, might as well give it a whirl.

That's all the same when comparing it to WW2online, really.
I guess you can summarise the difference by saying Planetscape is a first person shooter, while WW2online is a combat simulator. You don't just jump in a plane and scoot around like a figher ace in WW2online, you really have to know what you're doing just to get off the runway.

I would like to see a turn-based, empire-building game that knocks me out the way Civ 2 did...
Unfortunately, I have a feeling it will not be Civ 4...

The boardgame is very different than the Dune PC game that was released in the 90's. I never played that PC game but I understand it was sort of like Command & Conquer.
The boardgame was part RPG, part wargame. Very entertaining. There are PBEM sites for the original boardgame even though it has been out of production since the 80's.
