Are you playing any classic games at the moment?
Just curious to see how many people here actually plays any of those good ol' classic games (Games that's minimum 5 years old)
I just started playing The Settlers II a few days ago, and have played it all the time (Basicly I've played nothing but that game all week)
I was also just about to start playing Syndicate Wars, but it didn't work on a fast machine (The game runs way too fast to even be able to figure out what's going on)... I hope I'll get it working some day
I believe I might start playing Theme Hostpital again... that's if I can manage to find my old dusted CD...
I might also start playing Settlers I again... after I get tired of the second game...
A couple of months ago I also played lots of Lemmings II...
How about you... any classic games you're playing at the moment?

Recently I've started playing SMAX(C) again. I've forgotten how good a game that was.
I like to think that no game in my library should be played for a period of time and then left to collect dust. If only there was more free time to play them all.

I have tried to run SMAC on my WinXP computer. It worked untill I had to reinstall the machine, then nothing makes it run unfortunately.
I'm playing the old Commander Keen and (of course) Civ games from time to time. The old GTA's has been opened up lately too.

I'd throw out XP then. No OS is more important than running SMAC.

Well, I have this old 850 MHz WinME machine that could be used(it has been stable there before), but it has become more and more unstable and I can't find the installation discs...

Just Nintendo games ( FIFA '98, Super Mario World, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong Country, Mortal Kombat). But then I always play Nintendo.
If my computer was working, I'd be playing SimCity 2000.

Theres a program called moslow (IIRC) that slows down your CPU speed so you can play the game, its tricky to get perfect and im not sure if its that particular one that goes above 1ghz cpu, i used one for High Seas Trader on 1.6gig and it worked fine though. It didnt work with Theme Park too well though.

I'm currently involved in two Civ 2 PBEM games + every now and then I try to beat the fastest conquest record (objective cities only) playing as the Turks in the WWII scenario... Again, that's Civ 2...

Wow a lot of SMAX(C)ers here!
Don't tell me it's impossible to run SMAC on XP. Isn't there a patch for this problem?

Yeah nothing like a bit of slave trading, using the proceeds to buy illegal narcotics worth a bucketload in the next system.
Can't say I've played it in years though.

I would love to be able to play some UFO/X-Com, but the computer woun't let me.
Elite II wouldn't be a bad idea either but my brother sold our Amiga and I don't have a joystick.*
* Haha, yes well don't bother with the under-the-belt jokes or I'll send Mrs Kropoktin on you all.

Spent a few months looking for an old timers pc just to play the classics as they should be. Its a P166 48mb with a AWE64 soundcard.
At the momment i'm playing:
Daggerfall
X-wing
and as a not so old classic CTP2.
I occasionally fire up various others just to remind myself of their greatness, things like:
Civ
Pirates
Moo2(i liked it)
Elite plus
Xcom - UFO unknown(on my amiga)
They are more than enough to keep me occupied for the next year, unlike alot of newer games

elite 2 rocked. the main problem was the copy protection. the map was nearly impossible to read.
what amazed me though was the size. the entire game was only like 3 megs or somethng.
what disappointed me though was the lower number of options compared to elite 1. my friends who had it told me all these stories of having to scoop plasma from suns and stuff. all i did in e2 was assassinate people. whoopie.
