That's close to a record.

I've never seen -40 here

Saw -40 in the Laurentians a couple hours north of here.

Weather.com is calling it a bit differently:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/trave...om=search_city

...although it's still looking pretty damn cold on Wednesday.

Weather.com has the current temperature as -12C

My keen sense for temperature tells me that that's a big ****ing lie.

It hasn't gotten up to -12 for ~4-5 days here.

No, the record is like -26F or something. Not quite a record breaker, but a hell of a lot lower than the average. Things are back to normal now; 14F (-10C) in Omaha right now.

edit: Damn, the actual record for a January low in Omaha is -32F (-36C).

Wow.

I know that the mojor reason for cold temperatures is a trapped pocket of arctic air.

Maybe barrow's on the other side of it.

One degree of separation -- from tying the record in New Jersey.

Don't think it'll make it, though.

It's just one more reason for bashing Americans because we don't follow their effete little measuring system Real men use real measurements, quiche-eaters use metrics.

And yeah it is cold; got down well below zero (F) the past few nights. Finally, some good ice-fishing though.

According to:

http://www.weather.ca/weather/cities...s/CAAB0103.htm

... right now it is only -8 C, with light freezing rain and haze. I don't see any freezing rain, but I'll take their word for it.

Apparently, it's supposed to get up to 5 C ( ) this aft. Beautiful!

And it'll be in the plusses next Thursday and Friday.

Take that, Montreal!

It's in the single digits in New England - damn cold! Farenheit, of course. Ranging from 5 to 10 degrees farenheit.
