Go to the gambler book club and check around for any names of pro crap players. What you find are people trying to make a living by trelling you how to beat craps. They are not beating the club, they are conmen.
the only reason there are professional blackjack players is because you can count cards. counting cards is really the only way to make money on blackjack consistantly- unless you are just lucky. Of course the casinos don't like you doing that. You have to count cards without being noticed.

I have to say I don't see how you can turn the odds in your favour at Craps, or Blackjack. Sure you can minimise the house's advantage if you are skilled, but that is not a long term winning strategy right?

For blackjack there are pros sure, but if there are pros for craps and blackjack I want to know why.

Spike, if you're thinking of moving in on my magic beans trade then you can get lost! Go find your own market, this is my pitch.

In one deck blackjack (under most rules), by counting cards and varying bets depending on the situation, you can play over 100%, or you could say the house advantage is negative.
Now even under optimal condition this is about 102 % or something along those line, so you only win on the long run, and still lose a lot, so you need very good memory, perfect skills, nerves of steels and a deep pocket.
In the 70s I think, it became a bit too popular and the big casinons worked around it, by adding decks, or preventing too much bet variation etc...

if it was so easy to win the casions would go broke, odds obviously in there favour, but they have to have some fun there otherwise no one would play !!!

It is that easy to win- if you can count cards. I read a recent article about it. Although you have to be prepared to lose big. Sometimes these guys lose $10,000 in a few hours. But overall they do win money.

but that's easier said than done. Counting cards isn't as easy as it looks.

And also as has been said above, most casinos do not have single deck blackjack. And some have varied other rules as well to maximize house advantage.

Yes, very nice. But then it becomes, will you flinch if you lose a million??

It's just a bigger stage. The rules are the same. At some point, it IS going to hurt. The only variable is where that point is.

Nicer still is being happy in whatever moment you find yourself.

The skills required are not available to most people. In Vegas they ban counters, so you must be careful to not be noticed.

Th clubs put as many bariers as they can. Multile decks, shuffle when the deck goes aginst them. Careful notation of players betting with regard to the count.

All of this combined, negates the easy aspect, but it is doable.

I already said that the 150 included the Deities. 150 emperors or better is not as punchy a thread title.

Civ3-er. But then, I had guessed that already. I haven't seen him before, so that eliminates SMAC. Being a newer poster, that also eliminates Civ2. The only other very active forum is the Civ3 one.
