EU2 is one of the finest games ever created. It takes some time to learn but is IMHO the best historical strategy game available.

Jagged Alliance 2 is a very solid game if you're into the genre. I know I am  The only problem that eventually drove me off of JA2 were the frequent slowdowns, even on machines that were high-end for the time. I don't know if these slow downs still exist on today's machines.
