Vermont has to be the whitest state in the Union, with almost 97% of its population being caucasion. Dean did have a "cabinet that looks like Vermont" if they were all white.

I'd be interested in knowing how many white/female/asian people Sharpton has hired into his own organization. It's pretty easy to snipe from the sidelines like that when you're a demogogue instead of an actual statesman.

And Braun has consistently run a very classy campaign, I must say. Her debate performances weren't very inspiring, but she was always pleasant, charming and sincere.

btw, Braun has dropped out and has endorsed Dean (our next president)...

I had my initial doubts that Dean could go toe to toe with Bush on foreign policy, but with the reports from the Carnegie Endowment, the Army War College, and now Bush insider O'neill blowing the whistle, it seems like any Democrat will have no problem sending Bush back to Texas.

Dean is going to be the best president in terms of progressive interests since FDR and Teddy.

Finally, this trend of corporate exploitation and excess will stop. And the crony capitalists will cry.... CRYCCRYCRYCRYCRY WAHHHHHHHH

Dean will win some Democratic stronghold states like Michigan, and that'll be about it.

Bush won't even need to debate. All he'll do is direct that glazed-over, monkey-boy smirk at the camera and ask the voters that when the chips are down vis-a-vis terror and security, who'll be the guy in the clutch. Game over.

The real battle will be for the midwest and Florida- most of the map won't change.

I really liked Braun - she seemed to me to be very down to earth. I'm glad she chose to support Dean.

And yes - it's silly to attack Dean for having no black people on his cabinet. You could literally spend a year in Vermont and the only black people or other minorities you see would be tourists. It's just THAT white.

latest field poll shows Bush ahead of Dean in California by 15 points. Now of course Dean hasnt campaigned there, and will probably end up winning there, but if he has to campaign hard to hold states like California, he will be hardpressed in the swing states.

Any democrat faces an uphill battle- this amdin. gets far less scrutiny than the Clinton's did-Bush can claim that we should not change ships in war, and most importantly, he has a solid core of backers in the right and loads of money.

The dems. are going to wound each other deeply in this campaing season- I do think Dean will win out at the end in the nomination process, but he will leave scared by endless attacks- and if it is not Dean, but someone else, they will leave wonded.
