Entonces tenés mal configurado el server, o están poniendo mal el user/pass, SRB tiene que ser exacto, mayúsculas/minúsculas incluidas, tampoco te olvides de darles el permiso para leer/bajar archivos.
No se me ocurre otra cosa, a mi me funcionaba perfectamente.

Hay varios tipos de clientes, por eljemplo Azureus hecho en Java, que no uso porque es lento y consume demasiados recursos  , el ABC, BT++ (desactualizado me parece), el oficial, si buscás en google te van a salir un montón más
