Hey provost, could you give us an indication if you are planning to move East, West or South so those who might want to hide from you can do so.

BC is right, like in most cities that have developed in the UK since the industrial revolution, the East of the city isn't as nice as the West overall. That is John Prescott territory with all the docks and stuff This is pretty central in the city (not city centre, but geographically).

You seem a bit happier today.
I often wonder what happened to that cheerful young chap that was the early Provost on these forums.

well that would do it.......
Any chance of getting your PH D going again Provost? You might as well get on with it if you aren't going to do anything else. And it would pass the time until another opportunity emerged.

The PhD is an interesting one but I think I will pass on that, at least for now. I just see myself heading in a different direction to that academic stuff nowadays.
Ah, Hull is OK, it is the post-uni stuff that has been a killer, trying to get a half-decent job and things not quite going according to plan...

* crosses Chester and Northampton off the list - like they were ever on there in the first place *
Well I've had my contract in my present job extended anyway, so that is security for a couple of months longer...gives me chance to figure things out...

Provost:
Where are you looking for these jobs? Companies hate hiring people through agencies normally because they have to pay the agencies so much.
Loads of jobs on the Pfizer website (although I'm not sure of your specific requirements) and you can apply direct to the company. See here:

Looks like there are a few positions that might suit, but I'm not that sure what areas of biochem you have experience in.
Check out all the other companies websites as well. Wyeth are recruting in some areas, they are customers of ours.

If I had the opportunity to hang out out at a prestigious university and come out with a very marketable post grad qual whilst I got my life in order I would jump at it.
It would also get you out of the North.
I personally believe when you start something you should finish it and I think we can trace your unhappiness back to giving up your studies.
Maybe use the uni counselling services more if you decide to go back. There's always good resources.
There are also a lot of young attractive girls at uni - another problem area for you.

And the Hard Rock Cafe here even has Britney Spear's schoolgirl uniform from that video...
Though whether that is an attraction or an excuse to run for the hills, I'm not sure...
