You needn't sign up per se, but just dive in and get involved in the discussions, debates and general dealing of death to the AI.
There aren't too many of us still playing this, so anything you have to offer will be most welcome, and paid close attention to.

Same trend as at CFC. We just finished the third demogame and likely it is the last.

Hello!
I played this game yonks ago, for a month or two. I was city minister for a week
Just thought I'd drop by and see if it was still running. Seems it is.. which means, of course, that I'm gonna jump in and play
So whos the President? Are we still a communist workers paradise?

Welcome back. We are playing this game a bit differently. The Leader plays in the style of the government we are in. In Despotism, we chose a despot (by acclaim) to play alone and without asking advice, and we had a coup to replace him. In Monarchy, we chose a King who chose whatever Ministers he wanted.
The current King is Zedd. We are on an island we can't escape with triremes, we can only have 1 city until 1040 AD, and there are some other restrictions which are posted. The game file is downloadable so all can view it this time.

Thanks for filling me in.
About how many people are still here? Looks a lot more sparse than it used to.

I think there were 8 voters in the most recent poll. The most I can recall from past games was about 20.

In the current Monarchy, there is only a Minister of Science (Duke of York).

At the moment (and unless we decide to change the way we play) you get the gamefile if you become a minister. The poor citizens rely on what they are told by our glorious leader and his wise assistants.

Actually, we had decided for this game to try posting the game files. I posted the file at the end of my reign as Despot. I hadn't noticed that it has not been posted since I left office.

That's just how despotic the old king Zedd was!
Good job we've booted him out and are now governed by the wise and gracious consul, er.... Zedd!!

Hey!
I'm very new to this Civ Forum Idea but this whole Democracy game idea is pretty nifty if you ask me! I want in on the next game at least with a citizens role if you ever start another one!

Welcome new citizen indeed.
But as well as expressing an opinion, you can run for office once we start having a lot of elected offices.

Greetings and hello to all and especially to Sparrowhawk who suggested I drive by and check this game out.
This format is completely new to me, but, as Sparrowhawk thought, I am quite intrigued. Is there an established protocol to posting or does one just jump in with their ideas and comments?? Can anyone vote in the polls??
For now at least, I will try to understand the various roles and mechanics and I would appreciate any advice that might help me get up to speed. Thanks in advance.
Already there are points I could comment on, but I don't want to big-foot my way into here. For example, there is an open question about caravan rehoming and trade routes/bonuses. Also, what to do about a salt caravan. Hopefully, someone will see this and let me know the best way to proceed.

Jump in with ideas and comments and vote in the polls as soon as you like.
Feel free to comment on any open issue.
Only the current leader actually plays the game - and playing ahead by anyone else is frowned upon. In previous games only the ministers got to see the game saves, but in this one they are being posted. IIRC the leader is free to follow (or not) any advice given in a posting. He (or she) can also disregard the results of polls, but this is likely to anger the populace so is not done lightly. Polls are normally posted by ministers, but can be posted by citizens in extreme circumstances. The one absolute rule that will lead to impeachmnet if broken is that all polls must have at least one option involving a banana - I have no idea why!
Welcome, new citizen.

Well, if you mean have we almost won.......then the answer is definitely not.
But is the game almost finished? Thats a good question, we are lagging way behind and could use all the help we could get (especially from another regular demogamer). With lagging interest the game is also almost finished, so I hope you will participate in the remainder of this game.
