Nominations for Consul
Given the recent failure of the attempt to establish the Consulship, I suggest we begin anew. The Central Continuing Committee will accept any and all nominations for two Consul positions, the Senior Consul (who will be in charge of running the turn as well as any responsibilities and power that this entails) and the Junior Consul (they will be in charge of the diplomatic relations of the Human Hive).
The structure of the elections will be decided later exactly, but we will accept nominations for both positions at this time.
Nominees:
Octavian X, junior consul
HongHu
Jamski
Dacole

With that in mind, I would like to nominate Octavian X to the position of Junior Consul.

Another things of note, I would like to point out that political powers will be equally shared between the two Consuls, the responsibilities will only differ slightly.

If dacole will come back since enigma has quit the team, I would like to nominate dacole as the consul who is responsible for turns and Mead for consul responsible for diplomatic relations.

That would be good. Dacole's got a decent head on his shoulders.

One thought that comes to my mind is that could the consuls have some kind of veto power? For example if a poll is finished and the turn player had just obtained new information. Could he/she ask the team not to do according to the poll result and/or ask for a repoll?
Another suggestion is whoever is playing the turn should automatically be one of the consuls. We should of course try not to change turn player very often but we may need the flexibility to accomodate the occasions when we need to change turn players.

Thank you for the nomination.
Because of my limited skill (I only got SMAX a couple of months ago when the Laptop Collection came out), I feel it would be best to have someone more capable than myself handle the actual 'turnplayer' functions. I would, of course as all of us would, be willing to serve as turnplayer in an emergency, until a more experianced player could resume command resposibility, but right now we have several other members, including yourself, who are far better suited to serve as turnplayer.
I could be substantially more useful at handling or assisting with our diplomatic efforts with our fellow factions.

However seeing your analysis of the turn I feel that you have a pretty good grasp (better than me at least) on the game. Both Kody and Enigma had been playing the game for only couple months when they became the turn players. I don't feel this as a constraint to anybody's ability to learn and play well.
Since we are currently lack people who has more experience then you and I and also is able to contribute enough time as the turn player I feel that it may be good if you could take on this role. Then Comrade Oct can be responsible for the dip relationship. I would be happy to play our turns if only I didn't have time constraints. Because of that I can only be the back up player and try my best to fill in when the turn player is tight up with something.
Would it be possible after we post this turn you also do a parallel turn yourself and let us look at it?

How does that work?
Do I download the turn, play it as if for real, save it and post it somewhere for peer review, critiques, comments, and suggestions?
I have not saved the multiplayer before nor uploaded any files so far, so I am not sure how to do it.
My greatest weaknesses (that I am aware of so far) are:
I do not know how to exploit the stockpile bug; and
I will need to really work hard to efficiently maximize output with crawlers and formers (I will have to ensure I am not sloppy).
Let me know the mechanics of doing the parallel turn and I'll do it. I would be good to be better prepared, in any event, just in case I had to cover for an emergency.

Yes Mead, exactly like you said. You download the Drone's turn and do a turn as if for real. (You know the password don't you?) If you have not done a multiplayer game before it may be good that you get used to it a little.
Stockpile bug is just that you put stockpile in the production queue and nothing else this way we'll get ecs when something is finished.
Effeciently using crawlers and formers is something I need to learn too. I didn't do very good this turn. One needs to be real familiar with the game too to maximize the output. I've done some stupid moves this turn and had to fix it somehow.
If I could get orders for base productions and such I guess I could do a couple of turns for us until you feel you are ready or dacole is back or somebody else steps up for us. However I am really pressed for time. You may all know that I have actually cancelled one of my pbems despiting that it is one that I really liked. So I would really appreciate if I don't have to be the long term turn player, and can stay as our back up.

I have never played PBEM so I do not have any going on, but I do not want my RL to interfer with any commitments I make here.
I will attempt a pararell turn after the turn.
I have already messed with the current save too much to do a pararell turn with 2155 (I made Voltariograd the CB city, I can not download your save to see what you did).
I will try, with Dacole, Octavian and the others will back you up as turn player.
