This is ridiculous. To not use a wild card, I'm going to have to slow down to speed one. Why did all the new players get a better start?

not even going to bother PMing my next round since it doesn't matter, so I'll just post it. right break.
And for the next round same thing.. right break.
Now doesn't that sound stupid? Three turns in moving at speed one. And I'll probably get hit. And don't give me that you'll be happy to be in last crap. If my only chance is that EVERYONE else crashes, I'm not interested.
Next time design a stinking track that has a little more straightaway wide to let people jocky for position at the beginning. This one sucks.

Rasputin wasn't even in that game and he got a good starting point. So didn't give me that.

rah: Use a wildcard. I understand you're annoyance, you're start position is the worse than mine, and I've got the other outside. However it's what the wildcards are for. IMHO, the front runners will all hit each other, unless you can get right out infront (like Jamski). Along with the oil slicks (that I think are a bad idea, someone going off and crashing just because they are in the lead) it could be a blessing in disguise.
With one wildcard, you can have the next turn at speed 3, and the one after at 4.

And the turn after that? And the odds are I would be hit since that path is needed by others on the outside. It should at least come down to luck when we bunch up.
No, it's not fair that other people can use a wild card to get a jump start, while some have to use them just to make the first turn. If the starting line had been pushed back 5 pips, there wouldn't be an issues. Or if we had all started at speed 0.
This blessing in disguise, I don't buy either. This means I have to run a perfect race and hope for someone else to screw up. I know that certain starting spots will haven an advantage, but these aren't even close.
Prior I was thinking strat on when to use the WC, at the begining to get a good start or later to catch up. I will be able to do neither.
More thought could have been put into this.

For the record, the opening track was expanded significantly compared to the last game to give those on the outside edge more chance. You are right though, that first bend really does kill any chances you may have. I propose that we magically straighten out this part of the track so everyone has at least some chance. As this change doesn't affect anyone who has posted their 2nd round orders, you can now consider this officially done.

I really don't see much difference, can you just move the starting line back 4 spaces?
And not picking on you Ras, you were just the most obvious example.

rah: it means there's one less bit o the bend. You could do 3-2-3 in speed and not use a wildcard. It also means you're start is now identical to mine Sure, we're at a slight disadvantage to those inside us (all of whome can accelerate every turn and not go off) but with one wildcard we're equal to them. I personally don't see it as much of a problem, but I can understand that it isn't the fairest of starts. However with first and some second round orders in, I think moving the start line back a bit isn't the best idea. Sure, it'd be better to start like that next time, but I'd see what happens first here.

You don't need a wide finish, so it makes sense just to move the starting line back. While I'm doing this for fun, I was hoping that the start would at least have the illusion of being fair. This doesn't even come close. It makes no sense to have to burn a precious WC just to end up behind the pack.
And since the first bend is right, your position (while bad) is still better than mine.

Why? Even though the bend is right, it is just as short a route taking the outside as it is taking the inside, looking at the track. We are both an identical number of dots from the top line on Skanky's pic. What the first bend is doesn't matter, since there is no point in taking the inside on this track, as it is always straight in the end.

I dissagree, anyone on the right side of the track where it narrows will be able to take the first turn faster without burning wild cards.

Round 2
Spaced hit an oil-slick and moved 1 square to the left.
Rasputin and ADG were involved in a collision, as were Drogue and alva.
Drogue and ADG have a speed of 2, while Rasputin and alva are currently sitting there at 0 speed.

Now accepting orders for round 3.

So we round down the halving of speed for collisions, when you're in front? I knew I had to get the orders in before alva in order to only lose half. Nice way of braking for corners though
Have you got speeds and wildcards left please?
