where can I find SMACX?
I heard they are re-releasing it, or something like that.
And exactly what does it add to the orginal game besides the 2 factions?

Actually it doubles the number of available factions from 7 to 14. More in a minute...

As mentioned in some previous posts, The Laptop Collection, available at Walmart, contains SMAC, SMAX, and some other games, for $20.

It adds new alien lifeforms (fungal towers, spore launchers and sealurks), new pod discoveries and landmarks. There are new technologies and facilities too.

  Heh, just for the sake of clarification, while you do have more factions available for playing, you can't have them all at once.
*sigh* I'm still daydreaming about being able to play SMAX with all factions on the huge map.

Unfortunately, the Laptop Collection isn't available in the UK, and to buy SMAX one must pay exhorbinate amounts of money, or download it illegally.
