I got corrected.
Okay, I will wait for monday.
By then, Flubber and Maniac will have their first turn done.
The new Scenario Save to flubber is being posted. Watch out for the 6 or so reloads - CMN stuff, making sure that the teams play okay.
I encourage all of you to do a resign - exit reload on your 2nd turn so you can get a feel for where all of our bases are

Enigma_Nova, what is the turnplay order?
Btw, just to be sure, could I please ask to check if every faction gets a drone as their second citizen? I've saved scenarios where the faction that I last controlled had drones as on transcend level, but where all other factions had drones as on librarian level - the game gave them the drone and SE switch benefits of AIs.
If this scenario doesn't have that problem, could you please tell how you created/saved the scenario? Would be very handy to know for future reference for myself.
Also, whoever plays before me, could you please send the zipped save file to peter_steenbeke at hotmail. com ? Thanks.

Maniac - the second citizen of all factions is a drone
shawnmmcc: The scenario is already underway.
Since people divulged the knowledge of thier techs publically, I made the scenario myself.
Each player can assign their password when it is their turn.
Because the starting positions and techs are already known, no information is gained by accessing anyone else's first turn.
You are no longer needed here.
If you want the Scenario for testing purposes, I've attached it.
The Turn Order is pretty simple:
1. Enigma, Gaians
2. Flubber, Uni
3. Maniac, PK
4. Walek, Cyborg
5. Queza, Spartans.
Now where the hell is flubber? He needs to get his ass in here, assign his password, play his first turn and pass the scenario onto Maniac.

Okay - we need a turn turnover limit.
Without prior notification, turns must be completed within *25 hours* of the turn being posted.
Flubber has -100 hours- to show up and post his first turn.
Same with the rest of you, 100 hours for the first turn, 25 hours thereafter.

The turn is attached here. Does anyone know Walek's e-mail??
Oh yeah, don't mind the reloads. They're all part of my grand strategy, and are allowed for now.
As for a time limit, this isn't a democracy team game, so a time limit is less useful here. What would be the punishment anyway? I think that everyone will just play the turn as fast as he reasonably can, and things should go fine. Btw, 25 hours may not be sufficient in some cases, as the turnplay order isn't really time-efficient. It would have been better to set the factions reverse around the clock, meaning for example first Walek from Poland (GMT+2?), then me, then the two Canadians Flubber and Quetzacoatl, and then you.

The fact that you are at these forums signifies that you've gotten the turn by now.
So I'll wait for monday when we'll have the turn landing fresh on our thread.
As I type this, the date flips over from 'Sunday' to 'Monday' where I am.

Zero people have downloaded it up until now though.
I'll send a copy to his e-mail just to be sure.

It would be a generally good idea to have an e-mail and a forum backup.
Forum to see how the turn's progressing, so we can have a Log,
And also Mail to transport the turn quicker.
Sending e-mail adresses might be beneficial in this case.
We have Walek's e-mail, SPAMGUARDalewalek@wp.plSPAMGUARD (not hard to see the xxs don't belong).
My mail adress is not important, as I'll be checking the turn thread for the turn.

25 hours have almost passed.
Queza has 75 hours remaining.
Flubber, if you want me to e-mail you the turn, you'd better tell me your e-mail address.

I'm awake now (reference my previous post which was a total brain dead statement, I was rushing through my threads before going to work) - I see you don't need me, good, I've just finished the setup for game I'm CMNing, had a miserable time finetuning the AI - but now I know what can't be done. I gather first turn security didn't become an issue. Good luck - oh and if it gets within 24 hours, email me Queza's turn and I'll play it the first time, he is relatively new. He may not realize how fast this is progressing.

Why don't you take over the faction, if Queza doesn't return?
Instead of END TURN for each late turn, and Destroying the faction for 2 late turns in a row, you could temporarily control the faction, and for 2 late turns in a row, permanently control the faction.
That works for me, save that I might have a bit of competition in my vincinity.

I'll give it a shot, just don't expect a huge amount from me. I normally never play the Spartans, three legged stool issue - better momentum factions, and too weak to keep up with a real builder. Let's give quetzelcoatl overnight - I really need to go to sleep, I took a four day break and I'm trying to actually sleep with my wife (work graveyards) so if he hasn't posted I'll play and post it tomorrow. Just a question, posting the zips here is a little intensive of server space - maybe we should just email the turns?

When the first turn is over, I'm making a turn thread.
shawnmc - you are in no way obliged to play the game. You can destroy the Spartan base, and that will be that.
The FIRST TURN cannot be skipped; Queza will be considered out of the game very shortly.
Since you do not want to play the Spartans, I could probably let you choose the faction you want and start over.
I'd then reduce the first turn time to 50 hours.

2 days have passed.
In the interests of speeding this game, how about shawnmcc plays Queza's turn now. If Queza shows up before I can play my turn, he can retake his turn.

Here's the next turn. Definitely would have taken Morgan if I'd thought to try a tiny map. This will be interesting.

Morgan?
Okay, New Game guys.
Now, the Spartans are replaced by the Morganites, who have a decent shot at victory.
All your e-mail adresses are to be in this thread.
Aside from that, consider this thread cut.
If you want to e-mail someone the turn do so, but the turn must also be posted here, for the CMNs to inspect, and to prove that the turn is indeed moving along.
I check the forums more than my e-mail anyway...
Still need e-mail for Flubber and Maniac...

Ah sorry, I thought I had already posted it. It's peter_steenbeke at hotmail.com
Btw, if there is gonna be a restart with different factions. May I to save time suggest to rearrange the turnplay order according to the "reverse around the clock" principle? For example:
1. Walek
2. Maniac
3/4. Flubber/shawnmmcc (whoever is most east)
5. Enigma_Nova

Don't worry - the games going, it makes life interesting Engima, I just learned you cannot create a colony pod on your last base with one pop - had never tried it. Was going to relocate with one base on each side of the island, and try to make some transports and be thoroughly unpleasant. Doesn't work - I used the scenario editor with your map zip. I'm fine. Just grumbling to grumble.

Okay, now all I need is the one for flubber.
Oh, shawnmmcc, what you probably wanted to do on your first turn was reload a lot, until you bumped into worms with the rover and colony pod,
killed one worm so the other grew, killed the other worm (Rover gets 2 attacks per turn), netting you a nice 30ECs.
Playing gaians I also did this, capturing 3 (!) mindworms on my first turn.
Now I get 30 ECs, and a disbanded scout patrol for 4 minerals.
Helping me get that 2nd former just a tad faster than the rest of you, the exponential effect (coupled with the first turn advantage) gives me an excellent shot.
