5 players perhaps? (not too many, not too few)
I'm only really interested in C3C, it has too many great new features for me to go back to PTW!

Looks like a lot of people are keen on starting a new game. i am as wel. I propose to divide the group in two. Most likely a PtW and C3C one. I'm in for the C3C one.
I'm currently in Germany for work and will come home on friday evening. I don't mind starting off, but am not able to do so quickly. Maybe someone els can take the lead.
The other games I play in we started of random civ. I started to like it because in this way I'm forced to widen my scope on trying different civs. Just a suggestion.

Good Idea. Let's start by dividing the list of posters into PTW and C3C lists. Each can post there preferences and I will periodically up date the listings.
Another question just occured to me. If we are doing PBEM is there a way to set-up the turns so they go from one time-zone to another. Say all the GMT-6 do there turns then sent to the GMT-3 who do their turns and then the GMT-1 and so forth. Seems it might speed up the turns?
Anyways here is a starting list.
PTW
Awsric Armitage GMT-6
mart7x5
C3C
McMeadows GMT+1
Andydog GMT+0
Fatwreck GMT+1
Big Crunch GMT+0
jshelr GMT -5
Posted but Unknown
Rasputin
Any more takers??
Currently possible for 2 4-player games here. Maybe more if someone wants to participate in more than one at a time. It is all open at this stage.
Starting to look like the European guys have a game going.

The times and games above have been updated.
I would put the other guys times in but their profiles and set times by the Forums log in might not be correct.
If Rasputin's log in is correct he is in Australia. Probably not awake right now?

jshelr is from NY -- 5 hours behind the civilized world.
I strongly prefer c3c at this point.

How about somenody run through a quick procedural tutorial for those of us not PBEM savy yet. Received file to Load file to Send file.
Just to make sure. Would not want any confusion restarting the games?

It's getting together quite well..
My brother is keen on playing PBEM as well. He's got C3C. As I understand it, one can also play PtW with it, isn't it? He'll prefer C3C, if there's still a place in the C3C (or if we split up again) he'll take it, but else if possible would also gladly take up a spot in PtW (if it works).
He'll probably go by as Sixpack and is GMT+1 as well.
Don't worry about secret alliances, rivalty is strong among us...

I could go before Rasputin numbers 5 and 6. The European crowd should work out an order that corresponds to when they would like to play during the day. (Any early birds should go first, etc.) If you guys get a turn entirely done in a normal European day, we colonials can work "overnight."
My only recommendations on maps are that we go to one extreme or the other. Either pangea max land or islands max water. Maybe a small map would hurry the game along a little.
If the PTW group needs someone, I could also fill in there.

woohoo this should be good.. i tryed a few online games but they never get far as lag cuts in , so pbem should see a game get to the end.
I have no preferences for any map size as i just happy to play the game...
what ever everyone esle hapy with i am happy with...
i guess we all should make sure we have same versions,
i have not patched my C3C game yet... how bout others ??

patch 1.15 works well with respect to the FP mess, etc. It doesn't take long to update.
you have to do all the patches consecutively.
When are they coming out with the "final" patch. Should be soon.

Put a few more people into the PTW pool. There are no restrictions on the number of games someone wants to join. All this is going over email so feel free to start as many as you can handle. The number of players will have to be decided before each game begins by the participants. I think the more players the larger the map should be. Not really any lag concerns with alot of AIs going and each player sending their turns in order. Enough players and you might not want any AIs, except maybe for cannon fodder.
