One of the best maps out there- if not the one and only

Has anyone gottten all 31 civs on this map. So far I am only able to get 7 civs on it. I looked at the map in the editor and it said that I should be able to have 31, but no luck yet.

1. Open Civ3ConquestsEdit
2. Edit map.
3. Alt+Enter (scenario properties...)
4. Edit player options-Number of player
5. Apply
End.

What are the recommended CPU speed and Ram requirements for this map-if any?
Thank you!

Isn't the earth almost 3/4 water?

Yeah, but it make the games painful. Too many harbors and too long to cover it.

As big as you can find and it will still get bogged down. I have 3.066GH with 10K HD and 1GB mem and it stil gets rough on 320x320 and less than 31 civs.

Nice! Maybe it's time to replace my already favorite Earth-map.
I think the celts actually originated some place around just north of the black sea but they wandered west to France and UK, so maybe you should change their start location.
Talking of speed, I remember I played that 256*256 Earth-map on an AMD K7 750@812Mhz. I read The Silmarillion in between; each turn took 15-30 minutes!!!

Sadly my vacation ended before the game and The Silmarillion, and I've never been able finish eiter of them later. I also managed to forget to back up that game during a reinstall; I used it for measuring CPU performance
Have to try a complete game with all civs on this map if I'll get hold of a dual Opteron machine...

Well, some of us are water map fans. Believe it or not, there are players who always pick a Seafaring Civ.

That's about 50 squares larger than the biggest map I've played. The computer was busy for about 10 mins on the AI turn.
I read Melville's Moby Dick.

Ironically, I've been reading War and Peace between turns.

At any rate, this map is choice. I just made some resource/terrain tweaks in Northern Europe.
-Norway had no oil, so I added a deposit
-Added the Åland isles in the Baltic
-Separated Saaremaa from the Estonian mainland
-Added lakes Päijänne, Näsi and Saimaa
For someone without an intimate knowledge of local geography, you did a terrific job at placing terrain features. What kind of map references do you use?
