The rules I posted were in regards to custom factions. You can't have anything that's cheap or anything like that. And aliens have an e-grid, which substitutes as commerce. My Utopian faction has good bonus' I agree, but It is still very poor at battles, even dealing in mind worm infestations. They gotta go fundamentalist/Power b4 they even consider a war. Even then their reseach and industry are bogged down.

Morale is by far the weakest of the social choices, the attackers weapons are always (99% of time) twice as strong as the defender armour, build a single command centre or something and you've removed that morale bonus, even without the morale improvement your -12% is going to make no difference when you're using chaos guns vs plasma armour. As for mindworms all you need is a cheap trance scout or empath rover and you're sorted on that front.
When i play the Hive i tend to run wealth giving me -2 morale and yet i have faith that my army will be able to withstand one hell of a fight.
-3 economy gives me -2 energy each base, the energy grid will only be able to counter that kind of negative at large bases, my small bases will produce nothing, no cash, no research. Commerce with other players gives a FAR higher reward then the energy grid.
I don't mean to sound aggressive but you're viewing me as building a super faction here when i consider yours to be a far easier faction to play with many more pros and nowhere near the amount of cons imposed on mine.
That and i've just done a 47hour week and i've still got 3 pieces of coursework to do over the weekend for my degree have made me rather grouchy X(

We're playing pbem not ip in this game (theres another thread for that if you're interested on playing on sunday around 14:00 GMT) but for this we need a CMN to set up the map and get us underway

Actualy a command center would only give me +1 because a -2 Morale halves modifiers. Should I add an additional negative morale modifier for them in rules?
Kinda strange how we're disagreeing on which 1's stronger...I'd play yours. But I wanna use my baby.
PS--Can you upload your faction for me? I'd like to try it single player 1st.

I'm out. This has gotten too customized and complicated for my skill level, I just wanted to play a simple multi-player game to get the feel of it. Too many people in this game will slow down the turns anyway, so I'm going to jump out of this particular game. Good luck.
