Sounds very interesting indeed, will try it soon ( need to do a clean install first as soon as I can afford to waste some time )
Can anyone tell me btw how to update winXp without downloading everything again?
(I know there is a folder, but do I need to execute all these files individually ? or can I copy them into the clean install and then let it update from that folder automatically?)

I'm more and more impressed with Firefox overall speed. It renders pages much faster than Opera, and Opera is much faster than IE... Amazing.
Sure, it takes some time to load for the first time, but even this was improved in v0.8. It's been stable so far, no crashes.
I don't like to install extensions (although I applaud this feature, it's really cool), because I think that they slow down the browser (at least TBE did that in my Firebird 0.7, but then the developers advised the community to not install TBE and opt for Tabbrowser Preferences instead, whatever rocks your boat). If TBP and mouse gestures don't slow down Firefox, I may install them.

Aw, fark this. I installed TBE, and now it added some splash screen on start-up. I can click OK till I weigh an ounce, but it won't disappear and Firefox won't load now.
I'll stick to Opera.

Open Source isn't "commieware", it's akin to a government that lets the public see the inner workings of every facet of government.
If it were "commieware", updates would be called revolutions and nothing would work because i'd be a bloated monstrocity with so much overhead and beaurocracy that nothing gets done.

hold down the mouse button and move the mouve down: you have just opened a new tab
|
Hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse up... new tab... that's the with All-In-One Mouse Gestures.
And it isn't commieware... but then again, neither is Opera .

Never mind that. I can't even properly load Firefox. The TBE has completely farked things up. I de-installed/re-installed twice. I even pruned Mozilla-related stuff from the register, and still that pos splash screen appears.

What does the splash screen say? I've been using TBE for months and have never seen one...
You'll want to delete the Firefox profile.
It's in your Documents and Settings folder, then Application Data.
My folder says Phoenix but that may be just because I've gone from Phoenix -> Firebird -> Firefox...
Delete Phoenix or Firefox, then reinstall and TBE is gone.

Zop: as I said in my post above, Firefox developers do not recommend installing TBE, for it may ruin things for the user in some cases -- unfortunately, that's what happened to you.
They recommend Tabbrowser Preferences, although this extension is less powerful and has less options than TBE.

Just DL'ed it last night. Holy crap, this thing is fast! Oddly enough, it copied some of my extensions, like GoUp but not others like Mouse Gestures. I'll have to try Imran's link tonight.
The new download manager is nice and FireFox correctly plays .wma files now.

Yea, TbP only offers two options of which one doesn't work. The other option is not important to me.

You just download them and then run the downloads.

I always install "Flash Click to View."
What is does is to render all Flash stuff into grey buttons that you can view by clicking on them.
It saves me a lot of annoyance.

I have lots of problems with TBE, so I've learned to do without it.
There's a bugzilla bug for Firefox to implement most of TBE's features natively for improved performance, but I don't have it onhand... Everyone should go vote for that bug.

What I found interesting about the new Firefox is the new icons/logos for inside Firebird aren't going to be distributed on CVS or anything. Only "official" builds will get them.

Gotta love Word. Auto-generated table of contents, figure indexes, revision functionality, cross-referencing, etc.
