Research points needed?
I've got a bit of a problem

I’m attempting to put together a slightly downgraded version of SMAC as a Web-based browser game, for a university project

Its all going well except when it comes to the tech tree, I can't find out the cost in research points for any of the technologies
(Or the formula used to calculate them)

If anyone could help me it'd really appreciate it

Thanks in advance

I'm afraid that the tech costs are not set values, or even based on set values in relation to each other. In fact, the cost to research any technology is instead dependant on how many techs you already have, the difficulty level, the number of turns, the world size, whether or not "tech stagnation" is turned on, and the most techs any one player has. Which technology is chosen to research next has no effect on the cost, even if the choices are Centauri Empathy and Applied Gravitonics.

I think I'll let the "triple post" statement be bracketed by the other two -- it's much more stylish that way.
