I have received another copy of the 3900BC turn though.

As you are last player, after you finish playing the 3900BC turn it should be defaultly saved as 3850BC.

I've received 3900BC again from Sensei, who tells me he played the last turn he got from Sixpack.

What is going on??

Fatwreck, please resend your last turn to Sixpack.
Sixpack, please play that turn and ensure you send the resulting SAV only onto Sensei.
Ditto Sensei.

Hopefully we'll be underway again!

Never really had a good look at it but might it be possible that the turn name changes between no 1 and no 2?

In all the games I have ever played the year changes when the last player saves the turn. Sensei should be playing year 3900BC, and when he saves it he should be prompted to save it as 3850BC.

Hi all, I received another 3900 save from sixpack and played it. It automatically saved as 3850 so it seems we are back on track. The save is passed on to anydog.
