You have to try AquaMark, it's a great benchmark program: http://www.aquamark3.com/

My score was 21,135.

My system:

Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe
P4 3.0 OC'd to 3.3
1GB(2 sticks) OCZ 3700 gold Rev 2 (set at stock 2.5-3-3-7)
ATI 9800 pro
WD 74GB 10,000RPM Rator Sata
Lite on 4XDVD/CD burner.
SB audigy 5.1
Logitech 5.1 speakers
21" CRT

Haven't run 3d mark yet, been tuning the other parts of the system since the build two weeks ago.
Do have a PCMark score of 5076 (video has the weakest score).

Guess I could run that, but it is very dependent on the video card and not much else, right?
Plus I still need to figure out how much I can OC the video card. I DL'd aittool and powerstrip, just start playing with atitool last night.

I have the Hercules version and they send you a utility with the card.

I can't really be bothered........I know I could up my score my pushing the FSB to 175 or so and playing with the card's settings, but there isn't much point when you can play everything maxed out.

That system is beasty............get 3dMark03 and see what you get. Should be top one yet.

$1800CDN, or about $1400US. Mind you, it'd be cheaper now: the Athlon 64 3200+ has dropped in price, as have the 9800 Pros.

It would've been cheaper if I didn't build a virtually silent system, also. Antec Sonata case, Zalman solid-copper 750g CPU cooler (20dB), Zalman VGA heatpipe kit with noiseless fan (20dB), etc.

After seeing the Seagates I knew you weren't skimping on silence (when does silence cost a fortune? When you're building a computer ). I made the mistake of buying a WD Caviar 120... it's eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all day long. Getting a Samsung after Austria.
P.S. is it the 256MB Radeon ?

Why would you buy an XT when a 9800 Pro with good cooling hits the same speeds for hundreds of dollars less?

And it's only 128MB, the 256MB's DDR2 doesn't overclock as well.

I plan on upgrading to the R450-based cards at the end of the year or so, then I'll go for 256.

I'll hang onto my Radeon 9500 until PCI express is stable.
If it takes too long, I'll consider upgrading to a value-card in two years or so.

I wouldn't buy an XT anyway, they are way too expensive for a small performance increase.

What do you use to overclock your Radeon 9800 Pro? I have a utility that came with the card (it's the Hercules version) but I don't know if it is any good.

No it does not! SC has a MSEE and understands things like low DB case fans (plus there on a reobus that is built into the case so I can turn them up/down when needed, there is also a thermocouple to put where you desire, which I jammed in the memory.)

The only thing that sounds like a beast is the 5.1 speaker set-up.

Again Atitool and powerstrip are good ones. I haven't tried the Rage3D one yet.
You can get them all at major geeks.

You should try Aquamark 3, PH.

I just patched my Radeon 9500 to a Radeon 9700, and the result is astonishing:

I jumped from a score of 21,135 to a score of 32,751. And it didn't cost a penny more.

I ran the 3DMark 2001 test as well, just for kicks. I scored 13,508.

The Raptor is surprisingly quiet. My older comp has a 30mb 7200rpm drive that is a lot louder than this one. I do not know if this is the reason, but I put dampening washers on the screws when I mounted the drive.
