Small Game
I would like to start a couple of small games with 2 or 3 players to get fast turnaround. I'm thinking all random, maybe monarch level AI. Anyone interested in trying this?

Hi Jshelr,
are you talking C3c?
what are you operating hours?
how many turns would you like to play a night?
how many AI civs?
thanks

I'm interested in a 4 person game or a couple of 2-person games. I putter with the game while at work so it's from 7.30am to evening NY time. C3C preferred. Experience suggests that these games take a long time so a standard map with 6 AI would be plenty of size for me. What level of difficulty would interest you?

I would be interested. I don't get to play much during the weekend (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon), but that is usually no problem. I play consistently Sunday evening to Friday noon (Central Std. Time).
I prefer C3C. I think 6 AIs are a bit much. I would think a 4-person game with 4 AIs would be good. Monarch level sounds good.

Ok, we have four here in the small game thread. I'll email you three and propose starting with Imtoops setting. Let's post time zones so we can get an good order of play.
This would be c3c 1.15 patch which is at http://www.firaxis.com/downloads_allfiles.cfm
How about the 4 AI being Egypt, Persia, Rome, Iroquois. Everything else totally random.

OK, I guess the civ choice is random, also....which is fine with me.
The first letter in my nick is a "small L". I know it looks like a capital I, but what can I do. My email is the same:

Haven't heard from the dour Swede yet, but it looks like
Fatwreck
jshelr
lmtoops
PaddytheScot
Will be a decent order. I often can play a turn early in the day and lmtroops is an hour west. I'll take a chance and start the game by sending to lmtoops. (lmtoops, Since Australia is one of the few countries still on speaking terms with Americans, maybe we should give him the Maya.)
Hope this goes well. If you truly, really, hate the start, send me a picture and we can restart. PBEM takes a big committment and we want everyone treated fairly.

For some reason the game didn't pick up my name and I'm "player."
Here's turn one to be sent to lmtoops. From there to Australia, Europe, and back to jshelr.
Good game all. Behave yourselves well and stick it out for the long haul.
Settings were all random, standard size, monarch. The 1.15 patch link is above.

Just played my turn, a few hrs later than I promised. The start is good, so I vote to stick with this start.
I will forward to Paddy in a few minutes.

It didn't arrive. I'll email Fw. Maybe a resend or posted file would do the trick.

The save is back to me, so everyone must be satisfied with their starting position.
I'll play later, today.

Yes, lmtoops is correct to commend the group for lack of whining!!
I hereby pledge to defend my starting spot down to the last unit. Nothing is less fun than to play well and then have your victim quit.
