What about a never-would-be? That would be more accurate.
Anyhoose, back to the avatars.
Emperor Fabulous wins my vote for the best, but I did like the weird leaping green llama thing that someone (che?) had for a while. The first time I saw it I just laughed and once again, Apolyton was responsible for making me look foolish at work.

Which is Fez's new avatar?

Not too bad. I was nominated for both best and worst.
That takes effort!
Datajack Franit, Big Crunch, JW, Jamski all have nice avatars.

Best: Skywalker's, Lonestar pretender-to-the-throne Polykitty, and Laz's old eye avatar.
And Q^3 and Mr. Fun's of course.
Worst: PA's. Guy's a friggin' emp and can't be bothered to import an image...

Not only that - PA's a student. It's not as if he doesn't have any time to get a picture because he's at work.

I'll give Ben Kenobi's new one my seal of approval.
I'd like to take this opportunity to trash theben's avatar. It's blurry, nearly unidentifiable, and simply isn't aesthetically pleasing. Out of all the interesting images that the the return of the king has, you had to choose that one? Jeesh.

I probably should be insulted except I'm not too pleased with it either. Problem is, all the images off the LotR site don't shrink down too well and need a lot of cropping to get them to fit 80x80. Other images I thought were good didn't turn out very well either. I'm thinking of going back to the "enraged valkyrie" for awhile (much to -JRabbit's chagrin, I imagine).
Then again, you have a sports team as your avatar, so you don't have any grounds to critize anyone else on their avs.

The smooth lines and temptation to drink in style inherent in my avatar lets it speak for itself.

I got to tell you all. I want to be honest.
As far as a sub-category "Best", I think Starchild and I have the two "Best Attempts At Honesty".
That's just the way I see it.

Best: Jamski's, as anyone who uses Mahler is cool.
Worst: People who use babes/hunks they find hot. How unimaginative.
