I'd put it this way:
I like anything over crappy art that looks like it was drawn on a napkin with crayons.

If it works in 2000, it works in XP. Case closed.

"Look at your desktop and tell me how that is anything but boring."
Color, composition, line, texturing, subject, everything about it is supremely aesthetic and enticing. The pure detail work makes the two dimensional aspect of the picture both paradoxical and clearly above your realm of artistic understanding.

Data: 800 pixels in width is the maximum.

Yes, UT2004 rules. If the game lives up to what the demo promises (which I'm sure it will) UT2004 will be the best FPS DM game ever by far. I love the Onslaught mode
Oh, and as for the desktop... I figure everyone should see the lyrics to the song that guy is from, hehe.
Dr. Piranha by Dog Fashion Disco
He rose up from a toilet,
Bearing gifts and bleeding from his ass,
And from his disinfected mausoleum,
He scrubbed his hands and prepared for surgery,
Inside the operating room he screamed,
I believe this patient is already dead,
The nurse's laughter echoed through the halls,
As the doctor lit a smoke and shook his head,
I've discovered another flaw in god's sick invention,
We have built a time machine to travel through other dimensions,
The mercitron engaged the patient in,
A defenseless war against brutality,
Angered by the latest turn of events,
The doctor felt he should part company,
Upon arrival on the planet mars,
While waiting for the mothership to come,
Dr. Piranha and his faithful disciples,
In orbit searched for a baboons heart,
We are what we are,
Christ clones are imprisoned,
In slave camps on a planet of trolls,
As coal mines and tar pits,
Are filled with dead astronauts,
Malpractice in the cosmos,
The garden of stars is filled with vengeful enemies,
Assassins and hitmen eagerly await orders for research subjects to be
purchased by the highest bidder,
I will be hunted for infinity,
Detected with a DNA radar they'll watch my every move,
The voices in my head will never cease,
Mocking me over and over and over again,
We are what we are,
Christ clones are imprisoned,
In slave camps on a planet of trolls,
As coal mines and tar pits,
Are filled with dead astronauts.

I suppose I could have scaled things down a little more and not lost any detail...
Things which fail to detract attention from yourself, the job at hand, or your life are only boring if you are.

Lesser people like monolith don't understand the skill it takes to pull off CGI like that.

CGI is certainly as valid an artform as any other, it just so happens that in its infancy, it's done little more than suck majorly. Hopefully in 10 or so years, some really interesting stuff will be done with it.

I'm talking about skill. The skill it takes to pull off those beautiful images impresses me far more than color choice of crayons on napkins.
