Speed the game with TWO settlers?
This idea was brought up at the UN. Here is MRex's proposal verbatim, he is the spokesman for CDG:
Quote:
|
Since these games will take forever, how about we speed it up some by giving each civ 2 settlers at the start. I don't think anyone gets an advantage over anyone else this way, and we shave a number of turns off the game by being more productive faster. Anyone else like this idea?
|
So are poll is do you want to start with two settlers to speed up the game? Or just the normal one settler?
I was in a healthy mood this morning so I included the "banana" option
3 days on the poll.

I like the two settler option for getting the game up and running faster.

I like that idea too. a bit unconventional, but it could shave a month off the lifespan of the first game

Why not. And how about giving everybody a conquistador to do some initial scouting as well!!!

This strikes me as throwing the potential early balance off a bit... unless we get a second worker too to keep up with the second cities' growth???
Not to be a stick in the mud, but I would rather go with the standard 1-settler, 1-worker start when it comes to pop units.

Damn!
What ELSE are these idiots gonna do to put this game off further?
Anyway, I'm for it, though I believe this should've been done long ago, or not at all.

I don't like this coming up after players have decided what civ to play, so I voted no.
Basically, agricultural, expansionist, and too a much lesser extent industrial civs all derive less benifit than civs without these traights.
As Greece, we get more than our fair share of benifits from this change. (Due to Commerical less corruption in the non-capital city, that many more Hoplites, and more cities ready to build half priced libaries.)

I'm in favor of this proposal. It'll get the first game started much faster and it benefits us as our civ isn't one of the agr ones.

The proposal is as is.
No mention of a second worker was made.
If this passes (and Im kind of surprised we are voting FOR IT, but thats OK), if you guys want me to, Ill ask about a second worker to go with the second settler.
Fair enough?

OK I have voted for this at the UN.
I have also mentioned that if two settlers passes we would like to poll and additional worker as well
