A nice story about my local bargain bin.
went back to my neighborhood EB express, and I asked the guy if his store had bought most of the used games there, or if they came from other EB's (i dont know EB's business set-up - if theyre franchises, or what) since they have the largest used game selection in the area (2 entire racks of used PC games - one boxed, one a very crowded rack of jewel boxes)

He tells me that he had told some people locally he was buying games, and several had sold him their entire vast collections. He proudly mentioned that the section was as large as the Playstation section (or did he say the Playstation 1 section - I dont remember)

This is where i found Planescape Torment for $5. He also has Pools of radiance, and a couple of copies of BG2. Ive seen Panzergeneral 2 and 3, and several other interesting finds.

Are you in the Washington area?

Didnt mean this as a plug for EB in general - their used game selections arent always outstanding, and theyve certainly gone heavy toward console games. This particular store seems to be unusual.

I went to EB today. I wasn't very impressed. Although they did have Baldur's Gate, and I also went to Fry's today- and they didn't have Baldur's Gate- though they did about 9 months ago.

I was thinking about buying it again. I bought it for $10 9 months ago at Fry's, but my disc is unreadable, and like a dumbass I uninstalled my full installation

EB has too much room taken up by console games. And their used games went for $14, more expensive than the new game (in the bargain bin cd case- no packaging) at Fry's- or even EB. I could have swore I saw the same new game cheaper at EB.

Their pricing on used games seems rather haphazard - ive seen inconsistent pricing on various combinations of BG1 and 2, IIRC. OTOH there are sometimes startlingly low prices.

Youre right, they devote a lot of space to console games. I really think my local store is something of an exception.
