AU Course suggestion: The Power of Feudalism
Reading the debate about Feudalism I realized that it could be very benefitial if we will play a course on that goverment and see how good/bad it is. Because we all will be playing the same game it will be somewhat easier to discuss things.
My prelimiary sugesstion:
Relatively favourable set up for this government: Pangea, standard, 8 civ, everything average. One of Agr nations without great attack UU (GS and MW are out obviously), Aztecs?
So the point is pop-rusing bazilion units from death-camp towns to crush AI's.
I have a good map already for that
I think we should use stock feudalism or with little alterations.

Not a bad idea at all.
I think ducki already has the next AU course planned though.

Sounds interesting. I still haven't been able to bring myself to use that government yet. Maybe after ducki's course we can use the idea.

Power of Feudalism? Now that's a challenge!

I also have never tried Feudalism. This government has its appeal though. If you bypass Monarchy and Republic and go for Feudalism the number of troops you could support would be staggering. Close city placement would seem to be the key of this government since you do not really need many cities to be larger than towns.
With a support of 5 units/town and a 3 military police limit you are not required to have many luxuries which is beneficial with the current resource distribution in C3C. It has the same corruption and waste as Monarchy (problematic) but with forced labor instead of paid labor.
In a situation where there are few water sources this government could prove to be beneficial. Since cities grow much slower as they get larger it would seem that you could field a huge army with no upkeep costs and maintain a decent research rate (possibly 100%) with the number of cities alone.
At first glance this govt seems like a warmonger's dream. Pure conjecture of course since I have not tried it out but it does seem possible to build military units from the get go and go to feudalism, use any gold for upgrades and field a huge army with no upkeep costs.
I would think that a Religious/Militaristic civ (Japan) would find this govt to be quite powerful. Especially since their UU (Samurai) would be available right around this time.

Yep, sounds like it could be fun. Aztecs may be a timely civ to use too, given the early warfare nature of the government (well, early middle ages anyway) and the ongoing debate on another thread about the pro's and con's of the Jaguar Warrior cost vs stats.
I can envisage pop rushing everwhere and bunches of DrSpike's little pop-fuelling worker camps!
Hmmm, could be a really evil scenario!

Ok. I will post a pic of starting location and scenario later today (somewhat busy rightnow). We do not need to make it official. Just play if you feel interested.
I have AU rules 1.03 scenario, and will make a standard rule copy.

If it's not going to be an official course, could you post it in either the Strategy or Conquests forum instead? Thanks.
