I am all for a bit of flexibility, but I like a coherent plot running through the game. Maybe I should leave Morrowind for a while yet.

I'd say try KOTOR first. Morrowind is good, but the game is pretty empty, and boring until you get the boots of blinding speed.
Speaking of which.
If you have a long way t ogo, and don't want to waste time, try casting a realy long lasting levitate spell, and putting on the bots of blinding speed. It's like flying on your own personal airline. The only problem, can be the cliff racers.
But yeah. can anybody tell me where in the heck Molag Mar is?I have to find it, to do either a theives guild, or mages guild mission. Also, where is st. olms canton in Vivec? I lost the Morrwoind map, and so I've been kind of crippled in that sense for a while.

Yeah I'm playing KOTOR now. I'm enjoying it a lot, so I need to think about my next game. At present I don't think it will be Morrowind.

Right-click in game and then click on the map...
The game features a map inside it so it isn't that difficult.
The Vivec cantons are south east of the town you were first brought to. I haven't visited the other towns you mention yet.

You misunderstand me! There is a perfectly coherent plot in the game that you can start at any time. It's just that the other quests make it feel like you're living in the game, not just touring it in a bus that stops for fights.

There is a coherent plot. However, in addition to the main quest/plot, there are sub-quests you can go on.

Taken, of course, from the UESP . The UESP also has a fantastic, 5MB bump-mapped copy :eek!:.
(yes, I did see the credits)

I can't figure out how to right click with an xbox controller.

Very very true. However, for a firt timer at rpg's i wouldn't really recommend Morrowind. The sheer size of the game, let alone the map can seem overbearing at times. Thatis why I'd reccomend KOTOR. You still get to move where you want to, but it doesn't seem like you'll have your membership in the aarp before you finish the game.
Yeah, I've seen that map before too. I can't find Molag Mar on it. Maybe its Mar Gan. Well, basically the mages guild wants me to knock off some guy who has been practicing necromancy.

Also, while i was sauntering around in Vivec, I think I may have heard somthing about a sorcerer's guild. Does anybody have the metaphorical 411 on this supposed guild?

Yeah, the game is huge. I recently looked at the map of my first completed game- I had travelled less than 1/4 of the map (not counting Bloodmoon/Tribunal areas.
Those stupid Mar's keep disappearing. I still have the hardest time keeping them straight (Balmora all the way!).

Yeah, its fun to kill everyone in Balmora, and then thye all come back again. I killed off Fadt Eddie(hope that wasn't a mistake to kill the old bugger), and then I sort of took over his house. I have an overflowing loot bag of my own now YIPPEEEE!!!
I'm thinking of starting a new file yet again, just becasue HALO has gotten unspeakably boring. I think I need afew days rest fom it. But I'm wondering what race I should be. I've already done Dark Elf, Khajiit, and Redguard. I was thinking maybe orc, but then again maybe something less comabt oriented, and more magic oriented like a high elf would be fun. Please hit me with suggestions, and reasons for them.

I'm now leaning a bit towards wodd elf, just because none of my friends have ever been a wood elf, and it has a quality of mystery to it. What are the advantages of being a woodelf? I lost the booklet.

The map on the x-box is in the menu, a couple trigger presses away from the inventory, magic, and status screens.
I dig the Bretons. A little boost in the magic defense and magicka, but no penalty.

i know, but all of the places aren't already labled on that one, I'll just stick to the ol map for now. Besides that, I was wrong aboot the location. It is Maar Gan. Oh well.
But aren't all of the Bretons bald though? I don't want to be bald. I'm sure that one day I will be, but i really don't want to live out that horrrible fantasy in a videogame.

Actually, don't Aragonians have automaticlly infinite water breathing or something? I guess that would be cool. I don't spend much of the game swimming, but maybe if I could breathe underwater then I would. Actually, **** that, I cna't wear the boots of blinding speed if I'm a beast race.
Any news about a sequel?

That one website mentions Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but has no real information about it.

You can have a Breton with hair, if you adjust it right in the beginning. You've got to press like the black or white buttons to change how they look around.

Or alternately wear a helmet that covers the entire head and you won't even notice. I have no recollection if my character has hair or not, although I have a gut feeling that I would have given him hair in the beginning just because of my deep and passionate hatred for bald people.

The clanfolk of the Western Valenwood forests. In the Empire, they are called "Wood Elves," but call themselves the Bosmer, or the "Tree-Sap" people. Wood Elves are nimble and quick in body and wit, and their curious natures and natural agility make them good scouts, agents, and thieves, and there are no finer archers in all of Tamriel.
Special Bonuses" Marksman + 15, Sneak + 10, Light Armor + 10, Alchemy + 5, Acrobatics + 5. Specials: Beast Tongue, Resist Disease.
BTW: I just got the game and started playing last night. I'm a wood elf thief have reached Balmora. I've joined the thieves guild and accidentally joined the Blades.

It doesn't matter about the Blades, you have to join the Blades anyways to beat the game. I'd reccomend joining the Mages guild too.

Joining the Mages Guild is a must. Even if you don't want to work on the MG quest, there are plenty of goodies in the guild supply chests to make it worthwhile.
