A minister has a star next to the civgroup icon. But there may be newseditors without this flag as well.
For groups with private forums the users who has the ability to authorize members been given the ability to approve news. There may be groups without newseditors right now, but I'm sure that Markos will appoint editors to those groups.

This is great!
Gramphos, if you don't already have said star-people for many of the multiplayer Civ3 CivGroups, we can definately round that up for you.

Uhhh... just a security concern...
I can access the Tabemono forum through the linked thread at the news. That's kind of an issue when one wants to keep people out of their private forums.

Interesting idea.... look forward to seeing how it works in practice.
How do we change said Ministers, in case of inactivity? The DGs frequently go through periods when key members are absent, for example. Would we send a PM to an Admin, or perhaps Gramphos, asking for a change, much as we do with the limited mod powers over certain DG forums?

There can be any number of news editors of a civgroup, and they can be appointed by civgroup admins (I as the developer, Markos and Dan as admins, and Ming as super mod). If the civgroup comes to a decision on who shall be appointed just tell someone able to perform the change who you hav choosen.

Slap me down if this is the wrong place to put this, but has anybody else noticed that the 'civ group' icons seem to come and go recently from their normal place beneath your avatar(for example i'm a member of 2 and it says i am in the civ groups lists) but it might not display it on this post(look left ), but then again it might?

Whether or not those icons are displayed depends on the server load.

You are now a newseditor of the Spanish Civers civgroup. This means that you will see a link to moderate pending news in the main civgroup page, that you an follow to see news submitted to the group by members. Also note that any news you post will go directly to the public without a pending time.

Question : because we're from the Spanish forum, I suppose our news can be write and published in spanish, no?. Maybe you may want an small resume of it in english?.
Finally, I got kind of confused.. only demogame civgroups have ministers?

A small point - prior to becoming a News Editor myself I could see the "Moderate pending news" link - but it sent me to a "You do not have permission to view this page" page - now it sends me to a page that (I assume) will hold pending news once we have some.
