This game needs a few innovations, this is getting silly IMHO.

I just saw a card game to help play mafia. Along with the usual killers and victim cards, it gave a few superpowers to strong villagers:
- The hunter can kill one person of choice when being killed (whether by mafia or villagers).
- The seer can know the truth about one person each turn.
- The little girl can see what happens at night: it can't be played on the internet, but only around a table: the little girl is allowed by the rules to open her eyes, at the risk of being surprised by the mafia(s)
- the thief can "steal" one's status at the beginning of the game, robbing him into a normal villager.
- The captain has two votes. Unlike the others, his status is not secret, and he transmits captainship upon his death.

There are some things in there we can certainly work with and that would make for a fun game.

Complicate the game too much and it loses its fun. Who wants to study the thread for half an hour before being able to make their next move? As it is now, we just need to glance at the list and pick a name.

Or look at the vote of the person who posted before you, check that it isn't you then (a) vote for the same person if they haven't voted for you, or (b) vote for that person if they've voted for you.

Possibly.

Would have to be done thru the GM. Of course, allow for the seer to be a mafia as well, so the rest of us may not trust them.

Can't see that working here.

Maybe.

Nah, would be an instant target, no matter who they were.

We don't need them all, but we need something IMO.
I like to bring up secret voting agin. I know some of you don't like it, but what halve the village votes publicly and the other half through PM? (which would be made public at the end of the day)
As it is at the moment, we know about half-way who will be killed, not really fun, is it?

If we do go to PM voting, I would suggest that only the totals are reported.

We could try PM voting one round maybe, but I think the current format is probably less work for the GM, who already has a lot to do.

As I have said before, why not delegate some work to the ghosts.

Adding insult to injury. First we'll docpile you, then make you do all the work for the game.

I think more clues to the mafia identities would be useful. Each mafia must provide 3 clues to the GM during the course of the game to be included in the circumstances surrounding a death. Look at the fun we had with the 'L' and 'T' clues.

You don't have to Docpile.
In another game we use a medic, if the medic and the mafia choose the same person then that person lives, while the vote goes on.
ACK!

Now that I like... keep the medic secret, of course.

Can the medic protect themselves? And does everyone know who the medic is?

That is correct. they let the medic protect himself but that doesn't seem right.
If the medic is killed another secretly takes his place.
The medic is secret as well.
ACK!

Yep, you
I don't think we should incorporate all of these, but I do feel we schould/could try to experiment with a couple (or just the one) to see what happens

Hmmm... I was thinking of something along the same lines earlier, except that instead of the hunter always having a kill, he might incapacitate someone instead. That person can't vote until healed, by a doctor (medic).
And the doc/medic can bring back to life one person per game, excluding himself.
