Chapter III
The moon was full as Apolytonians went into their homes for the night. Many homes were dull, except that of GhengisFarb, who was busy preparing his scones and teacakes for the County Cook-Off tomorrow.
"I HAVE to get these done before that Jamski realises I'm entering the competition. That bugger will steal them at the fair and claim them as his own. Oh bloody hell. I'm out of flour. And the damned windmill will be freezing cold this time of night."
GhengisFarb went out into the cold barefoot with only a duffel coat to keep his warmth. It started to rain, and he could see nothing for the precipitation hanging in the air. As he battled to keep his field of vision clear, he ran into something.
"I have to tell dad to keep his rakes off the road at this time of night"
Unfortunately, it wasn't a rake. Vovan was tied to the tree, with two bullet holes in his head.

Someone's trying to frame Guynemer. Clearly, he wouldn't be sos stupid to kill me. I'm guessing it's either his or my brother! Vlad is the killer.

Actually, I'm sticking by my earlier pick; sadly, the killer is my brother, Jonny.

Now, why would I kill my own son? The killer is most certainly my brother Guynemer. He certainly would have been angry at his nephew Vovan, since Vovan had named Guynemer as the killer at the last town meeting. So, in order to protect himself from his family, fearing that they know his true identity, he plans to kill them all, starting with Vovan! He must be stopped before he kills Vlad and me too!

I'm sticking to my previous pick; the killer is ADG. Thankfully he isn't my brother.

I'll go with ADG, since he was close to getting hung on day 1.
 ACK!

The merchant Jamski wanders through the swathes of dead bodies on Redmore plain. He sees the crown of Richard III lying, muddy, on the ground.
"So, does anyone want a horse then?"

Could this have been a William Tell circus trick that went terribly wrong.
Hercules tries to put the best interpretation on things.
'Ah well must roll out the prize barrel of Sprouting Goose as the prize for the County Cook-Off competition'

I'm better at literature than I am at geography.
Stands to reason that Jamski wouldn't get too close to the action, remaining safely in the nearest town.

JAmski:
You ungrateful land owner. After all those goldfish I gave you.
I vote Jamski this round. One less free beer for Jamski during Happy hour

The threat of death is not much, but giving him less beer.

Maybe Vovan tied himself to the tree and someone shot him thinking he was a big turkey roosting for the night?

Maybe he'd met a mad German on the internet who had advertised for someone willing to be tied to a tree and then shot.......
