The good thing about the NGs was always the (sometimes insane) difficulty, at least in my case, so that's most likely a good thing..

Unfortunately, I also won't be able to play this game just yet (no console(s) atm)...

Ninja Gaiden is an elitist art of videogaming.

Though, the demo WAS super-fun. Just read hard... they needed to add an 'easy' level .

My BF bought me it yesterday as a surprise.

The game is awesome! It's gorgeous, framerate never drops, as difficult but yet as fun as the reviews suggest.

The fact that it's got Ninja Gaiden I, II, and III also in there makes it heavenly.

Ya, the load times are a bit long, but nothing is as fun as running and jumpig on the walls, like a Spidermonkey! I'm stuck on the first boos. I just use a repetetive attack pattern of jumping off the wall, and comin down super hard on him. Wash rinse REPEAT. That only gets him about half way before he kills me.
DO NOT use the shuriken on hium though. He is rubber and you are glue.

The load times are long because for each Chapter it loads about 1GB of data to the harddrive for a level/texture cache.

It seriously has the classic original versions that were on the Ninetendo as well?

Here's another PA strip about the game:

Let's see:

Knights of Old Republic
Ninja Gaiden

I just need one more and it'd be worthwhile for me to own it.

Any games that are fun local multiplayer that doesn't include killing?

Depends what you're into.

Midtown Madness 3 is great fun on both local multiplayer, Xbox LAN, and Xbox Live.

Sports games are always great. ESPN Hockey is the best hockey game, ever.

Prince of Persia.

The thing that makes Ninja Gaiden great is it does so many things so well. Fighter, platformer, adventure, even RPG...

The fighting mechanics are very advanced and even difficult to master. There are combos, moves you can learn, you can use the walls, you can used ranged combat... It's even more refined than Dead or Alive 3. Then there's also a magic system, an experience system, an item/weapon system, and a great plot.

I've never played a game like it before.

Prince of Persia . Though sometimes the controls can suck (like the jump from one wall to the other and back... I hate that).

Sports games DEFINITELY! ESPN NFL Football is the best version of American football on consoles or PCs in the last decade or so (Madden '93 was sweet).

Have I mentioned it's gorgeous and the framerate never drops, even with tons of guys all over the screen and fire/smoke going on?

The secret to the bosses is to remember that it's like all those old Nintendo bosses. Each one has a particular weakness and pattern, so to beat them you essentially need to figure it out.

This is not entirely true. My roommate has been playing this game every chance he gets since it was released, and I have seen the framerate mess itself up + game slowdown on one occasion, but only once. And don't go saying this is my Xbox, cause it's not.

The game itself looks pretty cool, but I don't think I'll play it. The story is stupid, and single player games need good story.

so is that Midtown Madness a racer then?

Thinking on what would sell the wife on the system... like I'd be able to buy it soon anyway
