Midtown Madness isn't really a racer. It's a car game, but it's more of an arcade game than anything else.
There's modes like Tag in multiplayer, which is very fun with as bunch of people. Tearing through realistically-modeled Washington or Paris in a plethora of cars, smashing **** up and trying to catch the person who's it.
There's no track or anything in courses like this. You get the city map, and use it as you please.

I haven't had any slowdown on mine yet, I'm far from finished though. Do you remember which part it was in?

There was some apparantly random slowdown that happened once when there were tons of bats. There is also a little slowdown when the final boss shoots these big beam things at a certain angle. Other than that, it runs really well.
And hey, ninjas run on lava.

In the first Chapter I spent 1/2 an hour trying to get to a chest by swimming and jumping.
I had almost given up when my boyfriend was looking through the manual and told me "Hey, if you press A rapidly you can walk on water".

How is the music
I don't know, I am tempted to buy an X-box for this game alone.

I have to say I want this game. But I'm not getting an X-Box for it at the moment. Maybe in the future.
