Multiple Sci leaders...
I just installed the patch last week - prior to that I had gotten 4 sci leaders and had them all sitting in my capital at the same time (with the same name, incidentally)... ever since the patch I've only ever had 1 sci leader at a time and was wondering do I now have to "use" my sci leader before I get another? And the mil leader has the same requirement still, right?

As far as I know you can get multiple SGL's still, but that is secondhand information as I have never received multiples in the same game much less while I have another sitting around.
The MGL requirement remains the same.

Yes, you can have more than one SGL. I had two at once with the 1.15 patch. Its just rare.

Except that you cannot get an MGL if you have an active SGL. A small incentive to use your SGL when you are at war.

But it has been that way throughout has it not? At least that was the way I understood it when I first read about it when C3C came out.

Yes, I'm sure it's been that way all along. It was never clear to me until I tested it though.

So you can have an MGL and still get any number of SGL's. If you have any SGL, you cannot get a MGL. If you have an MGL or an SGL you cannot get another MGL Is that it?

Yes, that's it.
Or more simply: you cannot get a MGL if you have any other leader. No other restrictions.

I've been the first to research every tech since Medieval in my current game. I'm in late Industrial and still no SGL....

That has been discussed also. Many people have reported "feast or famine" with generating SGL.
I didn't get any in my first 10 games. Then I got a bunch in several games. I have gone five games without getting any.
Chalk it up to probability...

The Sci trait seems to help quite a bit. The jump from 3 to 5% has had a larger impact for me.

Shogun,
That's pretty funny, because I'm just the opposite. Other than a couple of games when I didn't get any, I've been pretty consistent in getting one per game. I've never gotten more than one, even when playing for a SS launch. Just the way the RNG gods seem to work for me.

Im in the mid 1800s in an epic game and have gotten three SGL's as the maya.
I think its just the luck of the draw with the RNG.
I have gotten tons of MGL's as well.
About five or 6 in the latest war with Sumeria. But having tanks and multiple attacks certainly helps
