Should we start the game?????
OK there has been a level of frustration at the UN because we are still talking about the rules and we haven't started.
I can sympathize with those teams, its March already for Petes sake
So can you live with starting NOW, while we still hash out the changes to the rules?
Since we agree with most of the rules, and the discussion is progressing this may not be a bad idea.
Also consider the fact that it will probably be a month of turns or more before any of the rules in question even have an impact on the game.
Im all for lets get going, but thats for the group to decide, so please vote and post here.

I vote that we finish up the rules first.
On a small map, players may encounter each other in only a few turns in games that include an expansionist civ, and after the 1st turn delay where people decide if they are going to settle in place or move a tile, the next few go very quick.
(Non expansionist &Non Industrial civs typical early move : (City still producing warrior, Worker still improving tile, move the warrior to explore. End turn)

Actually we have 5 teams on a Standard Map, thats what we voted for at the UN.
We meaning all the teams. Apoly voted for a small map but was outvoted.

It won't take long to finish the rules. Let's do this the right way instead of just the quick way.

Yes, lets finish the rules first. I do not want the same cluster fvck that happened to the first ISDG, even if it did happen quiet a bit down the line.
Establish the rules ahread of time!

now
our abilities and strategery will carry us through this game, no matter what exploits we come up against.
we need them in place for next game of course, but this, well, there are only so many ways you can cheat.
I wish we could come up with a short list of banned behaviors to kick the game off, then go from there.

Now.
The first week or two is just getting our first warrior built and starting exploration. No one is going to break the rules this quickly. The rules are a luxury, not a necessity as the game CAN go on without them, it just may be stalled slightly if someone causes the mods some grief.
Besides, if the rules can be finished "quickly" ... then they'll be done before we need them. If they can't be finished quickly, then perhaps we have too many rules and we need to back off and just let the mods do their job.

I vote Now.
Civilization is a growing game... so after months of debate.. let the rules grow...
maybe by starting the actual game, the UN will be able to finish the rules a tad quicker...

Let's start now. The rules are close enough anyway and Elucidus can finish the rest.
