What group of americans are still being discriminated against?
We are making great progress with gays. it won't be long now until they have equal rights. What's next I ask? I don't ask that in a bad way. Civil rights have come a long way in this country. But eventually we would reach a point where we have all the laws on the books so that everyone is equal, right? Yes you can claim there is still discrimination against blacks (or African-Americans like Charlize Theron ) and all that. But as for a legislative standpoint, we have all the laws we need in place. The only thing left there is perhaps education, and a gradual change in people's attitudes.

Arab-americans have been getting the short end lately... Hassled at airports, storefronts vandalized, being profiled... I'm not sure if that's something that will ever get better after 9/11

I would say goverment, as I said before, there is still some discrimination againt blacks by the general population.
But from a goverment standpoint, what new laws or court rulings are needed for a specific group of people?

In limited ways, atheists. Mostly because church and state is not always kept seperate.
"God" shows up often in public phrases, mottos, and speeches. Official prayers, especially in schools, are a problem too. Basically, an atheist either has to swallow this, or face social exclusion, which is not fair in public life. Also, atheists are effectively barred from ever running for office.
A line I read once went like this: Freedom of religion in America means free to be any type of Christian you want.

No group has the monoploy on being discriminated against. Instead of treating people according to their group status, how about treating them as individuals instead?

In my opinion, suicidal people are discriminated against still. While suicide isn't against the law in most places, failing at it can get you imprisoned even though no law was broken. You also are not allowed to find a safe efficient method to end your life, trying to do so can result in imprisonment for yourself and anyone trying to help you.

The worst discrimination existing yet in this country is directed toward youth. They are the next (perhaps the last) group that will win their civil rights.
Most youth cannot vote, cannot own property, cannot sign contracts, cannot control their schooling, can't get a job, get less pay for the same work, suffer profiling by the police, can't leave their parents, can't drink alcohol, can't drive cars, can't run for office, can't enter many businesses, can't walk down the street without being arrested, can't smoke, can't watch many movies, or play many video games, face drug tests, random searches, uniforms, and censorship at school, can be legally hit and beaten, do not have the human right to use the restroom at school, get sent to Gulag Schools where they face torture and brainwashing, are punished by an unequal and unfair juvenile justice system, and many many more injustices.
Plus just through interpersonal relations, youth are patronized, belittled, ignored, disrespected, scapegoated, in some cases hated, and in most ways are treated no differently than blacks, women, gays, and other oppressed groups throughout history.
Young people are oppressed. They face bias, discrimination and prejudice at every turn. Fighting for their rights is the Last Civil Rights Movement.

Especially for those of you on the left side of the spectrum, I strongly encourage you to check out the following paper on the subject of ageism and youth rights:
Young and Oppressed by Brian Dominick and Sara Zia Ebrahimi
Another interesting article worth reading about ageism (the author calls it "adultism"):
Understanding Adultism by John Bell

Not true at all. Youth face severe discrimination *under law* in this country and many others.

Youth is the wrong term, as it commands too much respect. I prefer child.
And judging by the decisions children make today, I would not want them having the same rights as adults.
