DOOM 3 Co-Op Mode
http://xbox.ign.com/articles/497/497581p1.html
Quote:

March 09, 2004 - In an interview with GamePro, Vicarious Visions' CEO, Karthik Bala, confirmed that the Xbox version of Doom 3 will include a co-op mode. The mode will allow gamers to go through the entire single-player campaign with a buddy.
There was no mention if this feature would be split-screen or through Xbox Live (or both), but with Doom 3 scheduled to be one of the premier Xbox Live titles, we wouldn't be surprised to see some online co-op action.
Unfortunately, the PC version of Doom 3 will not contain this feature. We'll have more on this highly anticipated (and gorgeous!) game in the near future.

to Co-Op mode or to id Software not making it on the PC?
Co-Op mode is what makes games like this even more enjoyable. It was the best part in Halo by far.

To the anti-PC stance, obviously. I used to play coop mode with my brother in the original Doom and it was quite fun.

It's not anti-PC.
The Xbox version is being ported by Vicarious Visions, with Xbox-specific features thrown in like Live support. They are adding co-op.
id Software does the PC version. It's up to them to include it.

Still, at the end of the day the PC version is without coop mode, which sucks if you happen to want the PC version.

I assumed you didn't need it explaining.
Ok...
Blah, blah, blah, blah... games designed on one platform... blah, blah... don't port as well... original better... blah... PC because of keyboard and mouse... blah, blah... better patches etc... look at KOTOR... blah... PC is clearly better.... blah, blah... consoles rot your brain... no they don't... yes they do, look at "x", oh yeah, he IS a dumb nut... blah, blah... great gaming companies killed by drive to produce console games for quick profit... blah... no depth to console games... blah, blah, blah... not 14 years old any more, not for a long time... blah.
You know the arguements, I'm just saving you the time of having to read them and either refute them or agree
But bascially Xbox is and that's it

Jamski you are almost reaching troll territory lately.
I'm guessing co-op mode makes more sense on the console, since you can easily have 2 players around a console with 2 controllers. For online co-op SP I'd also like to see that on the PC.

Coop mode in the original was great. Especially when you deliberately tried to get your partner killed by triggering traps or shoving them into the path of enemy fire.
Or playing properly, as I sometimes did.

I don't like this trend of prioritising consoles over the PC..
Short-term vision, that's what it is !!!!
One should be minimal 18 before playing Console/PC games, they are way too bad for kids' health and too influencial for them.

Co-op (well I don't care if they include it or not, I'm not playing it).

i think this says more about how much id has changed than anything else. you can compare id to metallica in their transformation imo. discounting multiplayer id hasn't released a great single player game since doom 2. even in multiplayer id hasn't done much since quakeworld(last qw version came out in dec 1998) which has practically all the functionality of quake 3.

I disagree, Quake 2 had an awesome SP component of the game.

Whilst it's better than Quake1 for SP, awesome is stretching it in my view.

It has the best SP component of any similar game I have played. Yes, even better than Half Life IMHO. The great level design and the pure aggression factor make it worthy of being classed as awesome.

Doesn't really matter or not whether Doom3 is co-op on the PC.
UT2k4 has great co-op (vs. other team or bots,) nice multi-operator vehicles, a lush and smooth engine and of course is just about infinitely moddable.

Actually, about that, can you make the dust go all the way from the left to the right of the square?

Actually I have a serious X-Box question, and it may as well go here in the circumstances. I just saw some references to piracy for consoles. I was under the impression that this was much less of a problem in the console industry, so I was a little surprised. Can a X-Box user clarify the situation?
Please do not push the conversation in a direction that would get this thread closed.

Yeah it doesn't have to go all the way actually, but from 25% in to 75% in would be nice.
Edit: Oh I see what you meant. No, I want the same piece of dust to move slightly further.

Yeah it moves, but very slowly and not by much. In Opera of course, all the animations sometimes don't work, so that could be it.
