biggest thing that bugged me in civ2 trade was the lack of the recieving partner to determine how much they wanted to pay for the trade. this was fixed in civ 3...

ahem......cough.....anyone else care to add their vote?
Oh and in away its kind of an unfair poll as those who have played games longest, find it harder to choose from all the great games they've played

Me too and add stack killing with one unit. did not like ZoC either, now it is reasonable.

speaking of war, i take note that hardly any war games received votes. Apart from me, i think only one (the orginal Panzer General)

some people never played CIV 1

Who? Everyone should play the original Civ, even if they're growing up with CrapIII, just to see what the game once was.

war games are fun, but they've been around so long that us youngens take them for granted. My dad had an old board game that takes place in the Korean War, the chips, map tiles, rules, it all looked exactly like early war games for computer.

1. CtP2
2. CtP1
3. Civ1
4. Champioship Manager (pick a version, '98 seems to be popular)
5. Wing Commander Prophecy (the whole series really, but that would make for a boring top 10)
6. RoN
7. Commandos
8. Shogun: Total War
9. Dungeon Keeper
10. FIFA (pick a version, 2003 will do)

*duke is worried that he might be considered as one of Rasputin's "friends" *
Can we please all stop arguing about whether Civ 2 is better than Civ 3!
It's a complete waste of time - preaching to the converted to say the least - and is very off-topic for this thread. Go to the Civ 2 and Civ 3 forums and do it (if the mods let you....).

Yes, it's rather a moot point as clearly the CtP series is by far superior to both

It would be great though I need some practice as I have not played this game as much as the others from SSI. Certainly the best tactical PC wargame ever designed.
