Yes, it seems we're stuck on Shogun again.
Shogun, what are we going to do about all this?

Sometimes I get a free moment to post at Poly when I'm at work...Been working 15-16 hour days recently. Can't play the game at work, obviously.
Save to paddy.

the cheek of this southern lad to think badly of a hard working swordsman such as yourself...
one certainly hopes that you, OH GRAND SHOGUN of all you can see when your eyes are shut will have pity one this wandering drunkard
or one must load up the old blunderbuss and head on out your way with a pack of wild hunters

Wow. I assume this is funny and not totally at my expense...
It goes to show that despite UK, SA, Australia and USA speaking English, that the language has significant regional differences.
No offense intended in my remarks. I'll try to play my turns faster.

Shogun you've misunderstood, Paddy was mealy acknowledging your long work days and was asking you to forgive him for questioning your commitment to our games.
I laughed at the colourful way he put it.
Having said that, it would be nice if you were able to keep us more informed as to your ability to play turns; otherwise it appears as if you’ve lost interest – especially when we see your posts in other threads.

Thanks for the clarification on the english. I assumed it was funny, but plain didn't understand it!
Yes, I have been absent. Again, my apologies. I haven't lost any interest, in fact, it gets more interesting as the game develops. Anyway, thanks guys for remaining patient with me.
BTW, What's a "blunderbuss"? and do American colloquial sayings create the same confusion to to Brits and Aussies?
Recently I was watching "Whose Line is it Anyway" (The real one with Clive Anderson) and one of the "regulars" is this British (Scottish?) dude who gets talking so fast, and is hilarously funny although I'll admit to not understanding a large portion of what he's saying. It hardly seems like he's speaking English!
Anyway, a long post to suggest that Brits and Aussies can understand American lingo/language better than Americans can understand British/Aussie lingo/language. Any thoughts?

oh Chrisius the wag
well as to Americans understanding the Language of the English, I believe that it comes down to travel time... indeed.
New Zealand - 4 million population, 2 million passports {50%}
Australia - 20 million population, 3.5 million passports {17.5%}
United Kingdom - 60 million population, 7.5 million passports {12.5%}
United States of America - 293 million, 14.6 million passports {5%}
(Please note I have not included the rest of the countries on the American continents, only the country the Lord Gunner lives in)
Basically I feel the numbers speak for themselves.... The people of the US of A need to get out more

Good Point. I'm one of the 5% in America. Are you one of the 17.5% in Australia, Paddy?

Okay, now I'm super-vigilant TM about the save.
I'm not supposed to have it, am I? I hope not, since I double-checked and didn't see anything new arrive in my inbox.

Well the beer was flowing last night after we won our cricket game that's for sure. This morning I can't find any of this cotton wool that seems to be stuck in my mouth. I think a greasy spoon will fix that.

Guys, I will be on vacation staying with relatives in Florida for the Fourth of July Holiday and to celebrate my younger daughter's 1 year birthday (DOB July 4th!). I'll be back Saturday, July 10.
