Well, GOD is definitely good. Regardless on how you worship Him/Her. Whether be Jewish, Christian. Islamic or any other religion.
What I DON'T like is how we screwed the message up with the church and all it's wheeling and dealings.
I'm glad I'm Buddhist (with some Shinto and Christianity thrown in there for good measure).

Indeed.
And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore,
"they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat upon them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

*wave* to the people that do have religion in this thread.
Ever heard of constellations?
The absolute best rebuttal on the internet is actually ignorance. If you just don't respond to what someone has said, you can pretend they never even said it at all.

Indeed.
However, I am confused? Where does the Bible say the world is flat? I've read it through and don't remember that part.
While the quotes you show are good they hardly answer my question.

Matthew 4:8
Quote:

So is this passage meant to be a treatise on geography?
Could not the devil escort Christ anywhere around the world?

And are these any more than figures of speech?

Ps. 103:12

Yet,
For as high as the heavens are above the Earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.
Is this not a splendid simile?

The point is that there are constellations representing pagan deities and symbols all over the universe, so the fact that there is a sort of cross like something somewhere in the universe doesn't really prove anything.

Yeah, well that's what we wrote back then. Nowadays it's a little different, you know? Had Dad paid attention to what sort of son he actually had (as opposed to the sort of son he actually wanted) he would've realized that I was totally 100% tempermentally unsuited for either power or glory, rather desiring to spend my time lost in the joys of song. About 500-odd years ago, I finally had a bit of a nervous breakdown about all the pressure I was under... "Come, be born again!" I was asked... "This time they won't kill you... no, this time you'll come in power to judge the living *and* the dead!" they plead... "Look, it's your DESTINY!!" dad thundered.
So I took a powder. Went on a five day bender that had me so far gone that it took another five days just to detox. Had a few meetings with the shrink, who then had to break the news to Dad: I just wasn't cut out for the Godhood racket. Oh, I was OK if I was being sent out as an observer, even a protector, but to be in charge of the whole shebang? Couldn't, wouldn't do it.
So I don't know. I'm supposed to have a second coming to save all the sinners and what-not, but I'm no longer in the biz. So I guess y'all will have to wait. I'm sorry.
