I think they try to predict where the trains are going to go in London or something. Either that, or they may be trying to predict where new train stations will be constructed. I'm not completetly sure myself.

Actually, while I was posting in the off-topic forum, I found monolith's original Mornington Crescent paper that I think began this whole string of threads.(wouldn't that make it like a rope, or a quilt or something?)
here is a website about the game

I f you look it up on google, i think the 2nd or third result gives a very good description of its result, and its history too. Quite concise, but informative.

I'm particullarly partial to the game on the first Google results, although it does use a very limited ruleset... clockwise circle line wild indeed!
The correct responce to Golders Green has always been Epping.

For sheer amusement value, I will start on Cockfosters.
Although due to the nesbit potential of the line, this start certainly has potentail as shown in moves such as the south turnpike maneuver which won the late Sir John Farthingworth his first championship match in 1746.

Well, Vauxhall is a good, solid start, though the Victoria Line is often overviewed by some people's desire to play the circle line.

How appropriate that Stanmore is the line going to Waterloo. Still, this game should be a learning experience for Zop.

No deal, Imran. Poly won't accept attachments that big.
The link bipolarbear posted should have a map.

I, too, have often wondered this. I think that it's basically a bullshitting contest.

You could google it, like every other person in this thread has.
EDIT: In response to Imran.

I think that Victoria would put a nail in your plans, making the Circle Line all the more interesting,

In response to Frozzy's move to Victoria I have no choice but to move into Ealing Common to cut into his left flank.
I hope you're prepared to ruck over South Kensington, or you'll never see the dawn of Mornington Crescent.

I move to Arnos Green to preemtively block Felch in his attempted Rullsford gambit. Don't think we didn't notice, Felch.

Dunno what rules we are using here but I don't think Arnos Green is allowed. Arnos Grove on the other hand...
Anyway, I always play terrible games when stuck on the Piccadilly Line so I will hop over to Hammersmith and City by way of King's Cross. That way I will stay ahead of both Frozzy and Felch and it gives me time to try to anticipate Zop's next move...

Great Portland Street. Which, if you'll notice, gives me no less than two opportunities to rockade Zopperoni, whatwith the Sailor's escape being handily blocked by Iain. Zop, you may as well give up now.

Moving off from Tower Hill while noting that Buck is completely blocked by my clever use of Dunn's Coup.
