Is Civ2 the greatest?
Some unscrupulous people have organised a mass CTP2 vote in the following poll:

http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=110346

As CTP2 is about to beat Civ2, and this is a travesty of enormous proportions I urge you all to go, and vote with your conscience. (ie for Civ2 )

If you can't beat 'em......

I still enjoy Civ II.

Sometimes I wish TPTB would simply take the Civ II engine and improve the AI's abilities a bit, add some extra features here and there, and the re-release it as Civ 2.5 ... I wouldn't complain.

Let's defend Civ2's honour.

My perfect game would be CIV 2 with the graphic look of CTP1...
CTP2 is okay but pales in comparision to CIV 2...

As for that poll,, who cares..

CIV2 is in the TOP 10 all time games list of virtually every gaming magazine and game site in the World..

civ2 is a great game , but it shows it's age. For all my love of civ2 (lost many girlfriends, nights of sleep, sex, etc etc to this great game) it is very much flawed as we have come to learn

but in trying to fix those flaws, we got ctp series and civ3, so ....... maybe it is a better game

Anyone who has posted in this thread but not voted in the poll has missed the point.

I would vote for Civ2, but I think that that thread is abandoned...

But Civ2 is the best, indeed...

I think that was Ali.

Seriously - Civ2 is the only PC game which I play regularly. Nothing else is on the radar. So for me, it would have to be #1.

Hm, EU2 comes to my mind, but itdoesn't jave all those scns...
It doesn't have MINE scenarios after all

Colonisation, Sim City, Caesar were great too, but they missed the possibility of making such type of scenarios...

Holy bumpage!

Yeah, the point of this thread was to give Civ2 a little boost in that poll. It worked, since Civ2 won.

Civ2 will always win!
Civ2 will live forever!
Civ2! Civ2! Civ2!
It's nice that it won. But I want now all those civ2 workers to come to my thread and praise my scn

And rightly so! Not only better than CtP and its off-spring, but surely the best game ever made?

Well, as you pointed out in a PM to me... Don't call me in case of an emergency!

Browsed the older threads, found this one... Whenever there is a chance to speak well of Civ 2... I do...

BTW, is that quote of Ned true? If yes, surely he's being sarcastic, no? (But then there would be no point in having it in your signature, ergo he actually means it?)
