Are you asking for money back if you see an ad you don't like or support the cause for it?
|
People do that all the time to newspapers.
They complain, and they add that they will refrain from renewing their subscription to the paper.
It has nothing to do with free speech, as the person who subscribes to a paper, is a customer of the paper.
Now, it can be said that I am not a customer, in the sense that I pay for apolyton, but I am entitled to file a complaint.

but I'm not going to try to get you to change your avatar or your signature.
|
I have only twice filed a complaint about another poster on the site, regardless of what he has in his sig, or what he has posted.
One exception was for a very long sig, such as Whaleboy's.
The second was when I first came on. I have since learned the flow of the Apolyton OT.
Again, I'm more concerned with the management of the site than with any individual posters, or with censoring what they choose to post on Apolyton.

perhaps you might now have some appreciation for what women have to put up with on a daily basis with regards to advertising.
|
Why do you make this comment? I'm sure you would just tell the woman to grow up, as you have to me.

This recalls me of Tass' campaign against the "nasty evil porn ads."
|
Did Tassadar offer to pay for the bandwith he consumes?

That was a great troll, Ben!! You really stirred the pot with that "fake" intolerance. You've got everyone convinced you are afraid you might "catch" something from seeing a banner. Isn't it queer how dumb some folk are??

You have a long way to become a master, BM.
Take care, friend.
Edit:
Reading through the rest, I want to express thanks to Rogan, and jon.
I hope I won't have to leave, and if Asher is right, I won't.

Can we have a whip-round to buy Ben a sense of proportion?

I suppose that would give you pleasure, eh?

If he is trolling here, then he has been consistently trolling ever since he appeared in the OT.
|
You give me far too much credit.
As for my tolerance, it speaks for itself. I have no problem with the people, but only with the action.

I will take care, Ben, but, I think I would not wish to be a master. Too much hubris potential. Happy enough if I can achieve full fool status.
And nobody wants to see you leave. Lighten up a tad, yes; but leave, no.

for what it matters I think Ben should be allowed to give an opinion in the community forum without trolls setting it aflame. Thats what the OT forum is for

Ben expressed a need to know that he would not be personally supporting organizations/concepts with which he has moral issues. I think that was addressed -- primer on online ads, how they are often brokered onto sites, how the money flow works (typically).
I agree that the flames from the gay and/or liberal OT group came close to piling-on. But they have an equal right to express their opposition views. It just shouldn't get personal (especially in Community).

Who is this Q uilue person who's name you are adding to "the list" which by the way, doesn't sound near as impressive as " The List".
