As long as you keep some degree of humility you should be fine skywalker.
These old farts always go on about you'll learn when you get to our age - they're just trying to make themselves more superior :P.

Give 'im a break, everyone's an arrogant snot at 15. I sure was (as the oldtimers can verify).

I agree, I definitely was. Well I probably had a complex. Some would say I'm still arrogant. Most people I assume thought like this at 15.

Drogue is absolutely right. Not only Skywalker is gifted, but from what I've seen of him, he probably ranks amongst the gifted gifteds.

Only time and misery can make you a man. Until then you're just a punkass kid with an attitude problem. If I had had a time machine I'd go back in time to when I was 15 and kick my own ass for being so high and mighty.

I think my biggest shock was the realisation that being 'clever' in the traditional sense is not what it takes to get on in this world. I really breezed through my undergraduate university, picking up every prize along the way without ever doing any work (this irritated the hell out of my friends).
But when I started grad school, I realised that being clever isn't enough - there are a lot of other skills you need to have, such as the abilities to work hard, meet deadlines, communicate your ideas, work in a team, delegate, handle aggresive and difficult competitors etc..... I had to learn a whole new skill set, and I found that very difficult.
In fact, I got very depressed during my PhD. I stuck it out and triumphed in the end, but it was a hard slog. (Incidentally, I am still one of the cleverest (in terms of academic physics) people I have ever met, but I am nowhere near the most successful.)

Don't worry, I still get excited about things that kids get excited about too I used to be very 'mature' when I was younger...but now I appreciate the more childish things

This is something I've always be wondering, do the top physicists all have a very high IQ? or the measure is not everything?

I was merely repeating what my chem professor had taught me. I saw no reason to dispute him, given that he has a PhD in the field and I don't

We both live in the DC area - he lives in Maryland, I live in Virginia.
EDIT: my grandparents (on my mom's side) live in St. Louis though

No. Feynman had an IQ of 125 (high, but not astronomical, about 95th percentile IIRC) and turned down MENSA when offered honourary membership, because his IQ was not high enough (according to his book, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman)
My brother is an incredibly bright mathematician, and while he has a high IQ (probably MENSA 2% level, although he dislikes the idea of it) it is not as high as his ability might suggest, because he falls down on the verbal side, as many scientists do. To get a very high IQ, you would have to be able in maths, spacial awareness and use of language; as well as being very logical and having a good memory for facts.

It isn't. I do however think it measures something. It measures spacial awareness, mathematical and verbal logic, memory, and some a small amount of knowledge. That is a good basis for a measure for intelligence, but it isn't a measure of intelligence as people see it. It doesn't measure how much you know, what you know, what you are able to do. It does measure somewhat your ability to learn things, to remember them and to use them. It isn't so much a measure of intelligence, as a measure of potential intelligence.
In UK schools, it is used sometimes for indications of ability. If someone has a high IQ and lower grades, then they are considered an underachiever, in that they are probably capable of more, and likely do not work as hard as others. If someone has a low IQ and higher grades, then they are considered an overachiever, and probably work particularly hard in order to get their grades.

AH is an axis of evil all on his own. He need not young snot-nosed punks to compliment his reign of terror.

The axis of evil only has two right now. There is no need for a third member.
