Column #149; By Shadowstrike
Apolyton is a glowing example of globalization at its best, touts Shadowstrike in his article entitled "<A HREF="http://apolyton.net/misc/column/149_international.shtml">Apolyton: The Truly International Community</A>".

I have to agree, shadowstrike, this is one awesome place to be. I have considered writing a column much like that in past days.
I think it's all about the community. somebody posted to the civ2 gen forum about that a while back. what a great bunch of guys! (and girls, don't mean to leave you out, empress and SG2!)

I wonder if anybody out in our community is an expert on the subject of "virtual communities". And if so, does Apolyton fit the normal pattern of virtual communities? Any important lessons from Apolytoon that are applicable to commercial sites?
There is a lot of business literature out there about virtual communities, but (to be honest) I have not read it.

FB - I think you are mixing up the SGs!
SG{3} is female. SG[1] is her dad.
I am male - or was when I last looked.

I wanted to post about this mistake and I was sure that if someone already posted about it it will be Andy.

SG, I wonder how you guys are posting at about the same speed as I am even if you are three... Then again, I have at least three personalities myselves .
But about the article *quickly changes personality*, well, perhaps I should write about a memetic approach to the existence of Apolyton.

Speaking of virtual communities, does anybody have any good links about virtual democracy experiments? The same technology that has made virtual communities, like Apolyton, possible can be used to bring and end to the mockery called "representative democracy".
Let's not forget where the word "Communism" derives from...
